Just read through that thread, easily my two least favorite people I’ve seen around valorant
both aren't my cup of tea, lud's pretty chill tho. Cringe, but chill. His content has pivoted massively from when he was just starting out, but he's an active voice in & constantly gives back to the community that made him (melee). That alone makes him an OG.

Ehh not in my opinion. He is streamer/youtuber mixture, got to known from Smash community IIRC and grew fast because he also did good YouTube content instead of just streaming 24/7. If I'm not wrong he was starting stand-up comedian or at least wanted to be one before content creation. So I think that explains quite a lot. Just confidence mixed with content creator/entertainer brain. But I like him. He has done a lot of cool events and usually seems pretty chill. Its been a meme on Twitch that he is unfunny "pepepains guy" and I can see that his personality isn't for everyone. I don't watch him and I don't find him that entertaining alone, but based on events that he has hosted or where he has been participant he seems like pretty nice guy and enables other content creators around him. Little douchey maybe.
and I think everytime you have streamers etc who actually spend money/find sponsors to do cool events its always nice. For example has hosted some Smash tournaments and thats important because Nintendo doesn't give a fuck about esport etc.

There were a few times it felt like he was being so douchey that made the rest of the couch uncomfortable. Just seemed like he felt out of place there and overcompensated by being more of an ass. Maybe I’m wrong

I think thats just his comedy style, the douchey-ness is supposed to be ironic. You can feel however you want about him though, when it comes down to it he's just an enthusiast that wanted to put on a tournament

There was a streamer that scammed 200k+ by making excuses to borrow money from his loyal followers. The streamer used that money to gamble and lost it all. From what I remember Ludwig ended picking up the tab and paying that community back.

The smash esport was abandoned by its publisher /Nintendo. He ended up promoting and funded a couple tournament.

I didn't really care about the esports side of valorant till DSG. It got me more into it and that's how I ended up in vlr

actually braindead take, if you took a second to look at his content besides this event, you'd see all the big events he's put on, all the money and attention he puts into Melee, how he pays his mods, offers talented people full salaried jobs to do what they love, and recently helped pay back all the victims of sliker's scam (~200k). i don't like being parasocial and speaking on a streamer's character, but like Mr. Beast, he gives back to his community so it's fair to say he appears to be a good person.
people can call him cringe or whatever, but he's really fucking smart when it comes to content. any banter done at the event was done in jest, he's just playing into the fact that he knows 10x less about Valorant than any other person there. if you want a better look into his personality, check out his channel called "Mogul Mail", where he reports on news and gives his take on stuff. genuinely good takes from him and even recently he put out a video correcting all the mistakes he's made in his past reports.
he might not be funny or entertaining to everyone, but he at least shows that he's a good person through his actions. that alone is better than 98% of all streamers and content creators.
