bored as hell so where are you from and what's the best food from your country
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rendang
Says here it originated from Indo 🤷♀️
If you go to Bursa, you can see the first photo taken with a kebab in history.
What if someone took a photo of a kebab earlier and in another country but he lost his camera?
If something like that happened, I would feel sorry for that person because history doesn't write those who lost their camera.
You could argue IG.
Hara bhara kebab and that lucknow kebab are Indian.
i have enough problems with germans claiming the kebab and not the indians!!!
Who cares dude? It's eaten in India, cooked the Indian way and exclusive to almost the Indian subcontinent.
If you start to trace back history of foods then India barely has any food. Potato, tomato and chillies all came from South America, there goes 99% of our dishes.
Yes I understand the fact that samosa has evolved overtime and the samosas that we now get are completely Indian in nature, if that's a thing.
But I was just mentioning the fact that its origins were not from India.
Hey roachie remember that when this cuisine was created your tribes were still eating grass like cows somewhere in tuna tuva.
I am not sure
I know we have some common american foods that are not as popular other places
Philly Cheesesteak
Burgers
Apple Cobbler
Smores
Fried Chicken
BBQ (We have a FUCK ton of different types of BBQ)
Chili
Cheese Curds
While most of these might not be "Original" the way they are made in USA is fairly unique
Poland - żurek (soup with any meat bouillon at the rye flour's sourdough)
the best with boiled egg, cooked potato chopped in cubes and chopped smoked sausage in slices. the best thing ever: sour, a little sweet and salty
Honorable mention: pierogi (dumplings), especially Kievan/Rutherian pierogi (with cottage cheese, potato and a little bit of onion)
holy shit those pies are actually disgusting. i ate one when i came to the gold coast for a holiday and thought i had eaten a sack of pastry filled with rubber. pies from kiwi bakeries will clear anything. also claiming pavlova as ours whilst i'm here
lmaoooo
funny bc i live on the gc
and i have never eaten a shit meat pie in my life
but at the same time, i have never eaten a kiwi pie sooo
Brazil - Churrasco (basically brazilian bbq)
had lots of meat and beer today it was awesome btw
fish and chips?
We don't really have food the originates from New Zealand, we just eat other peoples shit
US, Borger
We didn't invent it, but we claimed it as our own and pioneered the fuck out of it. Even if it didnt need it
Its poetic in my opinion
Korea - kimbap and japchae
(live in the states but nothing here besides burgers and diabetes)
Tbh I hate spicy food. I get flamed so hard by my asian friends for not being able to handle spicy stuff but those are based foods as well ^
I'm based af but I hate japchae, Chinese noodles and veggie combo doesn't work at all for me
japchae hater detected, opinion rejected
(jk fair enough though) but the noodles aren't even 'chinese noodles' though no?
as far as I know dangmyeon (glass noodles) are widely used in east asian countries such as china, korea, and japan and isn't particularly "Chinese". Also, each country's is slightly distinct and can be argued that they're unique for each nation.
India
Pav Bhaji
Butter Chicken
Chole Bhature
Biriyani (being a bong, I like Kolkata's biriyani better)
American Pizza (Its definitely different than the stuff I had in Italy)
Italian Beef (Says Italian, but I didn't see anything like it in Italy)
Philly Cheesesteak
Burgers
Apple / Peach Cobbler
Smores
Fried Chicken
BBQ (We have a FUCK ton of different types of BBQ)
Chili
Cheese Curds
Corn Dog
While most of these might not be "Original" the way they are made in USA is fairly unique
Czechia
Svíčková
Idk most of czech food shares it's origin with other Eastern Europe countries so hard to say
