They really dont want it as bad in NA, we saw it first hand with the 100T match today and with the P0ppin stuff too. La Passion is just not there, teams dont want it as bad and they dont even try for it. C9 and 100T are the best examples of this, both orgs with capabilities to replicate what the Top Teams do BUT THERES JUST NO PASSION TO DO SO. Theyre just a bunch of Paycheck stealers at this point while you have Talent like NiSMO who's been grinding his years away in Tier2 just for bums to be recycled over and over and over again in Tier1 to produce 0 reuslts.

Normalize La Passion

Flair of doom and despair

NRG literally won champs and G2 have made every single international since Shanghai. Sure they mightve not won jackshit but theyve had high placements and they strive to reach there atleast

Yeah but their point is that they're at least somewhat passionate about the game

its the truth south america has the passion but lacks fundamentals and igls meanwhile in north america they have everything needed they just dont care even g2 are a bit complacent i swear if you deleted their bank accounts tmrw they are the best players in the game. we will continue to see asia takeover simply because of the work ethic and mechanics combination

2027.

Incentive corruption is when a system’s rewards and penalties are structured in a way that pushes people to behave in ways that are misaligned with the system’s stated goals. For esports, that's franchising and the partner system. There is no real downside to underperforming as long as you maintain a minimal level of contribution to the ecosystem.

For Teams: Focus is on the relationship with Riot through the partner system. Maintain this relationship and there is no fear of losing status, even into 2027.

For players: Since there is no relegation, there is no incentive to try beyond the status quo. One simply needs to "stay on the team" to continue to exist in VCT. Best way to do that is to be friendly with coaching staff and managers.

being friendly wont make you keep your spot. Hell, even playing decently AND being friendly, you still might get sacked

there are plenty of examples that prove this wrong (xeppaa, asuna, jessievash, immi, zellsis, xqq)

what he said is 100% right, in franchising as is there is no risk of the brand falling out of the ecosystem unless you can't pay

it's visible across other esports too, why do you think all the best players are european and asian? because north america doesn't take esports seriously

I thought nismo didn’t want to go to t1

Anyways there are paycheck stealers in every region (and atleast our paycheck stealers don’t place 11-12th every single stage) so I wouldn’t say it’s an NA problem
