Don't make a friend group freshman year and just stick with them for all 4 years. Try and make as many friends and connect with as many people as possible. Your social battery is going to be drained af, but it's worth it.

That’s just npc , a main character would never do that
Do you think your fav anime or fictional characters would be doing any of that ?

I said it on other thread and i'il say it here too. As someone who recently graduated college, just do the most things and meet the post people you can. Even things you think you dislike, you might end up liking it. Unless its something you reeeeeally don't want to do or dangerous, never say no to anything. It's better to regret doing things than to regret not doing them and being young is just to be ever changing, you probably will be a completely different person at the end of it so you might as well just experiment a lot

Im still working at my internship but i'il probably leave in a few weeks when they finally process my diploma (i graduated like three weeks ago) and then i'il be oficially unemployed so i'm already looking for something lol
In the meantime i'm doing some personal projects and taking some time from studying, maybe will apply to a masters degree in 2026-27

Just finished my Masters, I highly recommend looking into if you can do an online Masters. It gave me time to work full time and do classes at night.

Try to avoid procrastinating as much as possible. Getting my homework and projects done early allowed me to be far less stressed than my friends, and I never had to pull an all-nighter. It also gives you way more free time on the weekend.

Did you have a routine/most effective way to do this or you just yolo rushed everything after class during freetime

Basically I scheduled my classes to be early in the day, then after lunch I’d spend the afternoon and/or evening in the library. I didn’t rush through my assignments but prioritized finishing them during the week.

College has a lot more down time than HS bc you don’t have back to back to back classes, but you should still be getting shit done in that time

Have fun and don’t let your grades slip

For collegiate teams, your college prolly will have a esports team in the gaming club or something

dont get caught up in classes. yes you are there to learn, but more importantly college is your safeplace to be a stupid young adult learning how to be a slightly less stupid young adult. make mistakes, have fun, and stay safe.

say yes to everything and leave no stone unturned, four years may seem like a long time but it goes by in a flash, as someone who graduated last spring, im so jealous of all the new freshman, make memories, make mistakes, and study sometimes too.

i played collegiate val and still might this semester. If you want to go somewhere in valorant, it's almost entirely useless other than for getting some experience playing with a team. There is a ridiculously large skill gap to the point where most of the teams you play against are either gold/plat or high immo/radiant with very little in between except for a few asc teams (in my experience). It's great for making friends and having some fun and doesn't take up too much time unless your captain is anal about prac. Also if you have the chance to go to lan it is so fun so I would recommend it tbh.

Go to all sorts of events and stuff. Even if you dont feel like it, try to get out of your comfort zone. Trust me it's way better than rotting away in your room everyday.

  • Introduce yourself to everyone and try to make friends with everyone, especially the first few weeks. Go out all the time and make connections. This is probably the single most important part of the college experience

  • Internships, Internships, Internships. If that wasn't clear, let me repeat: INTERNSHIPS, INTERNSHIPS, INTERNSHIPS. Apply early. You do not want to be graduating with no work experience in your field. One more time: INTERNSHIPS, INTERNSHIPS, INTERNSHIPS

  • Time Management: You will have a seemingly unbelievable amount of free time. This new freedom is great, but it puts the onus on you. Unless you are taking some ungodly amount of units, you will have more than enough time to study and keep your grades up, its honestly not even that hard UNLESS you are somebody who does not have the discipline to set aside some time to get their shit done. Get your shit done (study, HW, etc) early and don't procrastinate, and your life will be 10x easier.

  • Dont fuck around with midterms (and they come at you quick), start prepping at least 2 weeks prior. DO NOT CRAM and you should be fine

  • Know how to put on a condom (this applies if your a girl too btw)

  • Keep 1-2 pedialytes/gatorades on standby in a minifridge or wherever (thank me later)

Talk to people! Go to the club fairs, events, shows, etc.
MAKE SURE OF YOUR REQUIREMENTS ALWAYS. I almost missed one my senior year.
Always keep a small snack in your room.
When you do your laundry, put a timer on your phone so you don't forget it.
Professors are actually extremely chill and they'll be a lifeline for you, get to know them.
Try to get off campus to study if you can!
And actually do the readings. Classes revolve around readings and it is painfully obvious who hadn't done it.
Have fun, be safe, make good decisions!

Sincerely, Liz <3 Class of 2021 College

Always register for classes as early as you're allowed to or else you end up with a bad schedule full of courses you don't want to take

be early to register for your classes and get your homework done early as well, it'll leave you with a lot less stress and much more free time that you can use to take advantage of what your college has to offer if you want to join any extracurriculars or anything like that. college is definitely a period where you have a lot of room to explore new avenues, whether it be socially, academically, or occupationally, so don't be afraid to make mistakes. best of luck!

network
if you're into research start as soon as possible no matter if it's something small or insignificant
be disciplined and use all resources uni gives you, you're paying for it

i wouldn't invest time into a collegiate valorant program unless your school or state is supportive. you can still do it for fun but don't expect any support or recognition, only pro will be is meeting people and making friends.

set loud, beeping alarms to do your homework, if you have many classes with inconsistent homework schedules, it's easy to forget to do them if left unchecked

actually attend class, pay attention to lectures, and take notes

use blurt method for studying

get involved in groups and activities, especially major-related ones

Advocate for yourself (especially to professors). If there’s an opportunity you want, ask around! The worst they can say is no.
