Keep seeing players who are playing max one or two agents at every event in "goat flex" player discussions its kinda weird..

Chronicle most of 2023 played Breach/Viper and some Breach/Kay-o Thats two/3 agents

the last time he flexed, which was lock\in finals was a complete failure where he was terrible on sage and raze.

Ethan is a "flex" but plays only flash init or he has 4 games on yoru last year i think

Why are flash init players considered flex players?

Forsaken and RB are the goats at flex, and it's not because they aim better or get more kills but because they actually flex lol

i think flex moreso means multiple roles rather than multiple agents, ie being the flash ini but playing secondary smoker on maps would be considered flexing ie controller players playing brim omen astra viper and harbor wouldnt be a flex player as its one role, but someone like n4rrate who plays raze,fade,kayo,gekko would be considered a flex as its 3 roles.

Playing breach/skye/kayo/is not flex cause they all do the same thing. Playing Astra and raze shows a lot more flexibility

yea i agree lmao ethan was the least flexible out of all the EG members last year, special shoutout to jawg bc its two completely different playstyles, and then again this year on deadlock hes shown he can play completely different in a whole new way

Hes an intiator who plays a initiator duelist role on double duelist comps

its not like jawgemo who would play a completely different in game role at times, kinda hard to call n4rrate a flex when at most hes flexing into a fade where you gotta know a few lineups or raze where hes second entry

flex players to me gotta be on 4+ agents across atleast two roles regularly at this stage of the game, it's not 2021, F0rsakeN in the last 30 days has played 7 agents, n4rrate in the last 30 has played 4 iirc and ones kay/o

Demon1 - Jett, chamber, astra is 3 roles
Jawgemo - raze, omen, astra is 2 roles
C0m- viper, sova is 2 roles
Boostio- astra, kj, Reyna, chamber is 3/4 roles
Ethan played just flash ini and Yoru which is still the flash role

Go back two years and flex just meant the fifth agent in the composition that would change between maps depending on whether teams played double smokes, initiator, or duelist. This usually meant the fifth player would jump between a flash initiator, Viper, or Raze.

Once teams started investing in multi-role players, we got a lot more flexibility like with EG and PRX. Common dual-role archetypes emerged and resulted in two different players swapping roles, resulting in less active True-Flex (3 roles+) players.

The term flex came about as the meta shifted from double initiator to double smokes. Generally the flasher shifted to Viper while recon would play Skye — this resulted in Chronicle becoming the “Flex” icon. From there, a lot people just started calling every Flash initiator who played a second role the flex player because apparently every team has to have a dedicated one. It’s bandwagoning at best

Ethan for sure ain't no flex when he acutally played the least amount of roles on his own team.

Chronicle is actually a flex player on his team since he fills in the gaps while his teammates only play 1 role but yeah i do get the argument but overall he's played a lot of different roles and agents throughout his career.

idk why, I already made a thread about the best flex player in 2023 and when I said f0rsaken is the best by explaining in detail, still many people think that chronicle is a better flex player. even though the number of agents played by chronicle cannot be compared to the number of agents played by f0rsaken🤷. Are most people in vlr are braindead because blinded by their favorite players?
