I know people are going to disagree but its unfair to have every other initiator get their "signature" off cooldown and skye doesn't? Fade, Sova, Breach, Kayo all get their abilities back after early control to help with site hits late. If you think it's too strong then takeaway the "blinded" voice line.

Yeah thats actually true. IMO I think she felt pretty balanced, so I think the changes are uncalled for but thats just me

Obviously skye should be nerfed, but not this drastically

If anyone can inform me as to whether lower ranked hated skye enough to make this happen thats honestly the only logic I can see outside of:
This wasn't agent balancing this was meta assassination. That in and of itself is not a bad thing, its what the game is at a fundamental level and people have been doing what they can to make it more like Counterstrike-perfectionist esque.

My issue is that skye isn't even op the other initiators just suck at reliability comparatively. Obviously sova/kayo have their maps with things skye could never do which is what is supposed to happen with balancing. I didn't think we were ready for this conversation yet but apparently Riot is ready to go into this territory: Initiators should not have 1 basically constant cooldown timer for their signature abilities.

Breach is a much easier agent to make the point with, Viper counters breach comps bc breach can take a line 3 times a round at best. that number could be increased to at least 4,5(in drawn out rounds with bomb down) before it gets into super broken territory. Especially with how often initiator util is used off cooldown, that should've been the start imo bc the comps that will follow skye meta just aren't as reliable. Theres nothing that will be changed about that before some of the biggest games in our careers for some of us.

I'm vibing im "that weird comp guy" anyway in NA so, ill figure it out. The guaranteed flash popping is terrible and that should be reverted and the person who wants that needs a pay cut. That is just terrible at every level we shouldn't need to make people hate an agent to put them in the ground the rest of it will do enough.

Do you know how many times people miss flashes or have them blocked so they dont get as far as they need to be? Professional skyes hit random hitboxes and the flash just sticks to a wall like semtex in COD. that fucks EVERYONE

as a certified low elo player, skye was very simple to play, low skill ceiling for initiators, however it doesnt really matter much because everyone below gold doesnt really care about comp as long as they have smokes. Nobody really cares about meta, so skye isn't really hated until meta becomes a part of the picture in terms of ranked.

People in gold and below hardly play initiator agents and if they do play skye they simply see it as a replacement for sage heal. So I don't think riot made this change keeping Lower elo players in mind

I was a cypher main for ages and i was expecting to play it again some this quali but its been really rough trying to find things that work best for my vision/team that dont get fucked by cypher rn

All of the initiator's signatures get either info, or support the team. Her old flash you could use it for both more than 4 times in a round, but with this nerf It forces her to use her flash for one of those two purposes not both. The only reason they have a rechargeable ability is because you can't use it for both at the same time.

except thats every initiator. And even at a challenger level skye just isnt oppressive. rito wants people to play "weird" agent comps. the end. there is no balance in this. Her new state is by far the worst initiator that has ever been in the game now.

rito does not want people to play "weird" agent comps (viper and skye double controller comps). i was expectign them to nerf viper tho after these past skye nerfs, adding a way longer cooldown to orb for example and nerfing its decay... removing a molly, even worse toxin regen... not to gut skye.

Surely they could've made the flashes regenerate after 2 kills instead of time, which would still be a nerf but not as huge as a nerf as the new patch.

nah that's a duelist-only characteristic and riot has been very vocal about it staying that way.

they could just reduce her flashes from 2 to 1, but bring back her recharge. That way she's guaranteed 2 flashes and longer rounds can get 3-4.

Why don't they make it so you pick up the flashes from where they fall like gekko, so deep info flashes are hard and risky to retrieve and pop flashes on exec can be picked up and used to pop flash again on post plant? This is 95% a joke but lowkey kinda makes sense to have deep info flashes be more punishable and give less info but popping a flash around a corner does not feel as wasteful. Anyway, they should hire me for game balance I'd save the game

Skye was very good but it wasn't oppressive like chamber was or could solo stop a site hit like old astra. She only felt really good when certain pros used her but thats just my opinion

Chamber was so incredibly oppressive bc the state of Prime Kayo and PRIME Astra was fucking INSANE and everyone just remembers chamber bc he killed everyone. Skye isn't even oppressive in that traditional sense she just has the capability to deal with anything whereas other comps will have stronger strengths and weaker weaknesses.

This change literally ruins the signature of skye as a initiator. After you use your two flashes you might as well be a sitting duck. Duelist have their two kill regen signature and initiators have their signature E ability

Why would anyone play skye anymore the dog is not as good. Breach and kayo flashes are much superior to skye due to her wind up time window. Now if you hit a wall you're gonna flash yourself when you enter site and seekers are garbage anyways. The previous nerfs were fine this is just overkill

they should've just made the cooldown on the signature abillity higher tbh
like from 40s to 60s
that way if you use one in the start of the round you will still have one for retake.

Or just make it so the rechargable one doesn't have a voice line for blinded.
