Mickey mouse this, micky mouse that. If you actually believe any S tier event is a mickey mouse tournament, you are actually hardcoping.
"Lock in is micky mouse cuz fnc won"
But it wouldnt be micky mouse if LOUD won.
"Champs 23 is micky mouse cuz eg won"
But wouldnt be micky mouse if FNC won.

Just stfu and pick ur side. Either
A) all S tier events are mickey mouse
B) no S tier events are mickey mouse

I am personally with B

Some tournaments are less impressive than others. It's as simple as it gets.
Reykjavik 2022 has an asterisk on it.
So does Lock In.
So does Tokyo.

I actually liked the single elim factor of the event.
the purpose of Lock In was to get a look at the teams for the season, it was meant to be a tournament that was "you either play peak valorant all the way, or go home"
Now to add that, I do hold lock in at a smaller importance than most of the other S tier events. But that doesn't take away from FNC's achievements at Lock In

I can understand that side of things, and yeah, you gotta be a hell of a team to win a single elim event, credit where credits due. But the whole concept of flying across the world to lose a single bo3 and be done for. It just wont ever be ideal

seeing the VCT 24 news. I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like that again... Its fun for viewers, and horrible for players.

Well I think if we complain enough they might do something. They did end up giving the franchise spot to g2 after people were vocal about it. it might not be too soon but the chances of a change happening arent as low as we think.

we have been complaining since lock in, now look at how Kick off turned out. They had it down in 2022 but they keep going for change...
If 2025 (which is far away) isn't a good format, I will lose all hope in change

Calling any international LAN a Mickey Mouse is cope, but I do disagree with the idea that all international LANs are equal. Champs, in my opinion, is way more difficult and important than either masters of a given year. More teams, more time to figure out meta, and play styles that were exploited earlier in the year have been figured out.

I don't think Champs 21 was a Mickey Mouse. Acend fluked a win, but the format wasn't any different than Berlin

ofc, not all international LANs are equal.
my 2023 ratings are
Champs > Master > Lock in (as they intended it to be)
My main complaint is people saying Int Lans aren't relevant

lock in isnt a mickey mouse torunament, just dont show 100% the level of the teams, because it is not the objective of the tourney, unlike regional leagues, masters and champions, It's just a tourney to ''present franchised teams'' according to Riot, people just doesnt understand it and say thats a mickey mouse tournament

I’ll take it a step further.

Any tournament besides champions is Mickey Mouse.

Masters events should be considered warm ups for the real end of the year tournament.

Maybe it’s because American sports are better, but no one cares what games you win before the Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Championship. It’s all about winning the big game.

Fuck your Mickey Mouse warm up tournaments.

Off season tournaments C tier
Regional tournaments B Tier
International tournaments A tier
Champions S tier

If we call tournaments "mickey mouse" because one or two team has internal issues, then there's no S-tier tourney in Val ever lol.
Any team's internal issues are their problem.
I can totally see people calling Lock//In "mickey mouse" because of single elim, but Tokyo had none of this shit.

Also, PRX and EG got 3rd and 2nd respectivelly at Tokyo, so I doubt the sudden roster changes were much of a problem lol.

Lock In just had a terrible format, thats all. Champs 2023 wasn't mickeymouse, every tournament, People say Afreeca is Mickey Mouse, Superdome: Colombia, RedBull Homeground aren't cuz good teams won them, if it isn't a VCT tournament and a VCT teams wins the tournament its considered Mickey Mouse. If a tournament has atleast 4 Mid to Top tier Franchise teams it shouldn't be considered Mickey Mouse then they all put in the excuse that they were "trying new shit" like they aren't playing for money, and nobody who plays videogames is going to not try when there is money on the line even if your trying new stuff which you have been practicing months prior but has never been showcased in a VCT event.

1: Not calling it mickey mouse
2: personally dont really care about it but those are the reasons put asterisks on tokyo
3: The reason people put an asterisk on the PRX and EG runs were because they had the potential to rival FNATIC but were either denied practice or an entire player. Again, I dont really care lol

calling tournaments mickey mouse is braindead imo, if you win you win, if you lose you lose. Sucks for teams that don't have a say in their issues but thats how life is.

You can't compare any sport to esports. Do all of the best teams in the NBA meet in one location once per year and battle it out like a Champions? There is zero equivalent comparison to traditional sports, so this is just a poor argument
