Proof that VLR is full of dumbasses when basically all of you talked shit and said stuff like XLG is a free win and China should lose international spots. Where are all of you dumbasses now?

You can chalk it up to throwing all you want, but that's just an excuse that weak teams use.

that + ppl switch up like crazy on this site. the amount of APAC flairs suddenly turning heel and trying to claim XLG's win shows how shameless ppl on this site are

Same thing with NRG flairs. ppl are too hungry to show they were "right"

Both teams were awful....XLG had better luck in the draw, both they and Global lost against FUT or NRG.

You don't get it. GE is a much higher ceiling team than xlg ever showed in this tournament. Simply looking at the LEV or FS game is enough to know that. They just couldn't bring it out today, probably cuz of XLG being their scrim partner and they mightve overcooked some stuff. Deserved win for XLG but GE would've been a better team to be in the playoffs for sure. XLG will be blown out of the water by a more pricipled team, whereas GE has the strats and shooters to punch above their weight sometimes.

yeah, losing to the same breeze attack round back to back multiple rounds in a row is inexcusable but the team that only has one breeze attack round isn't making it deeper in the event either. This is kinda lose-lose.

Happywei and Rarga have better mechanics than anyone in GE imo, but as a team I can see GE being slightly better.

Also, XLG could've definitely made it closer against NRG, but Keiko decided to have a life game, honestly hella unfortunate for them.

I dont think China should loose their spot, but I start to think we should redraw the APAC-CN boundary. APAC is too big and China too small, maybe Eastern Asia T1 should be a thing and the rest of APAC with maybe MENA should be the other T1

China accounts for 30% of all of Asia's population, and have some of the highest revenue in Valorant they definitely aren't too small. Also there are way too many logistical complications in China not being its own region.

Exactly, 30% of Asia population, not 50% this is the problem (And seems the data are kinda overestimate), if they share one tier 1 with Japan and Korea you can have a balanced population boundaries.

The problem with trying to expand China is that:

  1. Despite only being 30% of Asia's population they generate similar revenue to the other 70% if not more
  2. China's laws are much more restrictive than the other regions
  3. Scheduling could get complicated since China does much quicker and shorter scheduling
  4. Deciding where regional lan events would be complicated since all three countries have quite high attendance rates(especially China)
  5. If they were to to do something like take turns hosting lan events, then traveling would get complicated.
  6. China fans can be quite hostile(The 2024 Shanghai GenG incident)

  1. It's still not 50%, and will will go really lower in the near future with the demographic shock China will face
  2. True, but not impossible since China can play in inter
  3. Doable
  4. This was a problem in 2026 format, but in 2027 it's doable since the format rely way more on Tier 2, so China league will still be a huge thing, even if they have to qualify to an "Eastern Asian Cup"
  5. If they are so VISA issue, some could play offline
  6. More rivalry more hype ! And still not impossible to make Korean team play against China

  1. It really won't grow lower though, China has showed continued growth in Valorant and is gaining a lot of popularity in China so its more likely that China will continue to grow and will benefit from not being forced to expand its demographic
  2. It would hurt riot's profits significantly if they China played internationally rather than in China
  3. Doable but would require a compromise and a lot of logistics that wouldn't be needed if China stayed separate
  4. There wont be tier 2 anymore with the 2027 format,
  5. Some playing offline while some playing online creates integrity issues and potential unfair circumstances.
  6. There is a difference between rivalry and fans sending death threats, harassing and being incredibly hostile to teams not from China, like the Chinese fans did the the GenG players in 2024 based off of a single thing the org said on twt not even the players.

  1. Continue growth, but is Valorant China bigger than SEA, NA, or KR ?
  2. everyone start in tier 2 in 2027 format
  3. Death threat is the best rivalries
#35

  1. Yes VCT is bigger in China than all of the regions you mentioned which is shown by the viewership and revenue China generates.
  2. That's not tier 2 anymore though, even leo faria himself has said this
  3. No it is not

  1. Do we have real number on China vierwrship I thougt it was impossible to have ?
  2. Basically the current T2 is where partner team start, Actual T1 become cup

  1. While we don't have exact current numbers, in 2024 China had around 1.8 million peak concurrent viewers over one year while the next closest region was Americas with around 800K. This TMV video shows a lot of the past numbers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvSOkQsYgj8(Though some of it is speculation)

Not going to happen, China will never ever lose their own region it's a pointless discussion

Never is never sure, China have a terrible demographic change in the 10 next year (especially since population number in China have something fishy in it), they are probably safe for the next 8 year, but it's hard to predict what the scene will look like in 10 years, when India will have twice their population (and maybe even x3) and start to gap close China GDP, this is a long term talk

I actually think XLG played pretty well today, I liked some of their stuff on Breeze, they actually played with sum balls unlike usually. Don't change that I think they will go 0-2 in playoffs but whatever

I think XLG is a pretty good team, but they're facing off against teams that are like 1-2 tiers above them. Hopefully they can pull of an upset.

i for one always believed that cn was not totally cooked at this tournament, xlg have a lotus that on their day is one of the best itw and edg i assume will be strong, at least better than most of the swiss teams

I was in this boat, but based on the past 2-3 internationals it was a conversation that may have had to happen based on day 1 results. Obviously now that swiss is over this is not the case.
