That's a crazy reason to drop someone 2 months into tier 1. Especially someone who's already proven himself. Also ENVY's whole concept is play whatever the fuck you want. Will they drop eggster if yoru gets nerfed? Their team identity is made of tissue paper in that case.
ENVY wanted to be in partnership 2.0 teams selection next year no? This 2026 is crucial for next year's selection considering G2, NS and XLG all ascension team qualifying for international event.
I don't think the franchising contract is entirely on performance. It's on viewership and how much brand value they have. ENVY are a reasonably popular org but they also had the whole rankers thing. They were all streamers turned pros. It was a great story. Now they area dime a dozen bottom 8 team in americas. They did not help themselves with this move at all. They would need to win champs or something for the clout loss to recover.
just on a surface level dropping inspire for demon1 is objectively a better move for brand value
rankers was not very popular in the overall valorant zeitgeist, envy however is.
This is all assuming the team works. Demon1 is also a player who'd leave immediately if he gets a better offer which you can never fully prevent since he's an insane player and champ winner. Imo envy have screwed cause they've made it clear they don't care much for the original core that got them into tier 1.

Lol if that was the reason I was mad at him I'd have been flaming him when he joined DRG. I was really happy to see that happen since it was a chance to see a demon1 vs PRX rematch but that never happened. I just think it's sad that inspire gets screwed over for this. I have zero hate towards demon1 or the EG roster unless it's boostio but he got his ass sat down by EDG winning champs in 2024 so I don't even mind him anymore.

issues came WITH rossy, rankers core stayed together from end of 2024 til end of 2025, ion and cane were too young to play in vct so of course they couldn't stay together.

Rossy downfall needs to be studied. I remember after T1 everyone wanted him to get on a good team. C9 offseason he looked great then everything went downhill. He looked optimistic before the LEV bombout now it's like he doesn't even give a shit anymore. He's LUCKY to be getting a paycheck.
I remember when he was so bad on TSM and was upset because no matter how he tried he just continued to suck. Back when subroza used to duo with him like a charity case
