Ascension team running everyone's pockets
There’s a difference between in being “not bad” and almost qualifying as #1 to masters in your first event in tier 1.
well , the guard was already competing internationally before winning ascension so they basically were a tier 1 team also already
I mean if you look across all regions, Ascension teams tend to be a step behind t1 teams.
ofc theres gonna be bad ascension teams but that doesnt mean there cant be good ones...
The region is so tactically behind that shite tier 2 Turkish aim merchants can get 1st seed 😭✌️
they arent tactically behind the emea playstyle doesnt suit this meta and all of the top teams are missing crucial pieces (sayonara, chronicle, keiko etc.) they are just aim diffing these teams
if you watched the games you'd know that BBL outcalled VIT all of map 2
map 1 they outaimed them
Parallels to G2 in Americas and XLG / DRG in Chinas
It's good tho - finally seeing an ascension team with their entire roster and seeing them dominate
Yeah but that G2 core was always T1 worthy. They made Masters Reykjavik alongside Optic in 2022 and just barely missed out on Champs in their loss against 100T in LCQ. It’s not really comparable.
So how do we know BBL Core has not been T1 worthy and why is it not really comparable?
You could argue they were as good as mediocre teams like APK (Ascension) and FUT (RBHG qualifier). The problem is that they were too young to play in VCT so they’ve only been able to prove themselves in VCL.
TGRD were a proven team before the franchising split but just missed out because their org sucked. As far as I’ve heard, all of the players received T1 offers that they turned down, giving up a full year in T1 for a chance to ascend together because they knew the core was international worthy. That’s the difference dude.
s0m said "when we were in paris, we played about 100 times against BCF and they were smashing us." Also BBL's coach KEY said that during Champions Paris they trained with top T1 teams for weeks. This kids were dominating T2 and there was a huge gap with other T2 teams. Just accept BBL is good atp
Nowhere did I say they weren’t good? Just differentiating the expectations people had of the G2 roster compared to the rest of the Ascension teams.
that one doesn't count cause BCF is a team full of rookies whereas G2/The Guard's roster was essentially a t1 roster that got shoved into challengers
tgrd were qualifying to masters before franchising, they just got screwed over
Can you even count g2 as an ascension team? All those players were attending masters events before franchise
This roster was always going to be decent at least. Its like G2 of EMEA in sense that they are like tier 1 level stuck in tier 2.
emea ascension winners were alwasys eu teams until last year and they never deserved to be in tier 1. this team is diffrent
XLG and G2 did the same thing in their years. Boom esports went 5-0 in stage 1 for APAC. I guess these ascension teams got to tier 1 for a reason, but we'll see how well they adapt to everyone adapting to them in the other stages.
