+++Pearl : On this map we have almost no data to analysis the meta after Tejo nerf, but we can already guess the future meta.
Let’s start with the easiest part : Smokes : You have only one choice, Astra, is the only option, no debate, even more after Omen nerf.
About Sentinels, i’m gonna take a risk there, Vyse was the most pick, but got horrible result 43 % NonMirrorWinrate as a solo-Sentinel, Killjoy was 2nd, and Cypher 3rd but with really great result, aaaand then he got omeganerf, and finally Chamber is 4th with also good result, and since he wasn’t nerf, maybe it’s the best option there. To be honnest, I just think you shall pick what you are confortable on, because playing on the sentinel that is meta, is usually not the best choice, since it’s the class that is the most sensible to antistrat.
About Reveal Fade and Sova are both decent, so you can play the one you are the most confortable on, but I think the most efficient thing to do, is to pick the one that have the best synergy with other agents in your team.
Okay for the Duelist, you can play Neon or Yoru, or…
Even both, since double duellist did okay there, and even Pheonix is also an option.
Weirdly enough, Vyze as a second sentinel did good with 54 % NonMirrorWirate, but she got also nerf.
Tejo was technically play as a second initiator more than a 1st, but got bad result, so with the nerf piking him is probably trolling, Same for Breach and Kayo that both get horrible result.
Double controller almost didn’t receive any pick, but with everyone nerf, I can see Viper taking back Pearl since it was a map she was decent on, I don’t know why, everyone forgot she was at 40 % Pickrate minimum the 2 times Pearl was present at champs. Do that open a Room for Harbor replacing Astra ? It’s possible but I wouldn’t bet on that.
chamber saw all of his success when he was paired with with a second sentinel mainly vyse, i don’t think he will be as good in solo sentinel comps
yeah i'd argue that chamber is the flex, not vyse.
Viper hasn't been meta on Pearl in so long, you're talking 2022 and 2023. I think Harbor as a secondary might see some good play, maybe Harbor/Omen or Harbor/Astra, I don't see Harbor/Viper being as good with how many smokes he has. Harbor's wall was used a lot to take mid control, can't do that anymore if he only has one.
You are absolutely right and I did an horrible mistake there, that explain why Vyze got a good percent as a 2nd ctrl.
I should change the way I analysis Chamber, since he got passive vision and can lurk better than Vyze I did prioritize him over Vyze for the sentinel column, but i'ts a msitake looking at the data
its a map where you can theoretically run any assortment and it'll work
double duel works, double senti works, double ini works, and double controller was even the meta for a hot minute

I don't think there's ever been a time in val's history where no-recon was reliably good tho
You're putting a lot of pressure on waylay scouting, chamber TP, and harbor cove jumps to get info, which are all extremely prone to trap plays from the other side
To be fair, I just think traditionnal sentinel are fully out of the meta, to me the current meta :
- 2 ctrl
- 1 duel
- 1 reveal
- 1 offensive pick (Veto, Chamber, Yoru or another duel),
since traditionnal sentinel may be out of the meta with the recent nerf, and you need something to cover mid, I do think veto can be a good choice, you have someone that keep mid, while staying aggro
If they don't revert the Harbor changes he'll literally never be played again
Well the thing with Harbor is he was picked bc his cascade made it easy to take neutral map control easily (think B long on Pearl or B long on Icebox). It was great for countering awping sight lines, so now that he doesn’t have that, why would you play him over Astra on Pearl who can do the same thing with rechargeable recall smokes
Tejo is definitely going to be meta on Pearl despite the tejo nerfs. The ult is incredibly strong for B hits and retakes, and the missiles clear difficult spots for execs, particularly on A.
Idk if you guys watched RBHG but the grand final had a tejo pearl mirror matchup between G2 and NRG and it looked really good. Definitely needs to be played in a double initiator comp and double initiator only looks good in the hands of certain teams.
Honestly, well made video. I feel like we're going to see
1) Double Duelist Yoru and Waylay or Yoru and Neon
2) Double Initiator Fade and Tejo or Sova and Tejo
3) Double controller Astra and Harbor or Astra and Viper
4) Double Sentinel with Vyse and Chamber or potentially Vyse and Veto as a counter to double duel or double init
I think Tejo is really out on this map, I think Vyze should also be out, but I agree with the rest
