Riot games should conduct GC champions before the normal one.
The team that wins GC champions gets a slot for the normal champions.
If they keep the league seperate idk how will GC grow.

That's why.
They'll be able to show their skills.
And if it exceeds the expectations they merge the leagues.
Would need to let two teams from gc go to champs no? Otherwise it won’t be even
I mean alright.
But it's just one GC team bullying the other in the finals to get the championship.
Might be a stupid take but then I feel like the gc grand finals wouldn’t matter as much, like yeah winning gc is nice but it isn’t talked about nearly as much as the normal champions. So even if you lose you still get a pretty good award (going to champs)
i hope you know they would come 17th-18th if they won a map they would be overachieving
Atleast they get a chance to play with the actual top players.
Maybe then they'll improve.
they do get chances. they have more opportunities than t2 teams to scrim t1
I mean.
We wouldn't have seen the ZETA underdog run if japan wasn't given a slot and had to fight with other asian countries.
yeah but japan was an unproven region that deserved representation and gc is proven to be rancid
its slow progress thats the point. in a closed system how are you meant to grow if your competition isnt as good as you? look at china for example, EDG were stomping everyone so easily for years, they get to an international, get stomped. rinse and repeat for a bit and suddenly other teams are now giving EDG a hard time, slowly progressing up and making internationals and beating other teams. 2023 champs winner boostio saying that china will never be as good or whatever. 2024 EDG champs winner? its slow and takes alot of time, money, role models and understanding of how to play the game. they need the reps in to be able to have better ideas on map logic etc. chinas viewerships hardcarry the numbers in international aswell so ofc that helps
I think you misunderstand what is required for GC to grow. One GC team playing like 2 games at champs every year and getting completely shit on by teams way above their level isn’t going to improve the GC scene. If anything it would just make things worse and promote toxicity since people would complain that it’s unfair that a GC team gets to play at champs and shit on them for how bad they play.
The thing about GC is that it’s a long-term project to encourage women and other marginalised genders to compete and play video games competitively. It’s about exposure and about making women and people of marginalised genders more comfortable and accepted in the esports space, so as to not discourage them from playing games competitively. It exists mainly to encourage change among the casual player base and at the grass roots level.
GC teams already got a spot for challengers and it didn't went very well. They need to evolve there first
The top teams from gc ( with florescent ) still lost to tier three teams/ tier two relegated teams. I dont know how will they survive against top teams from each region
yeah NOBODY wants this
put tenz, Fns, s0m, Sacy, and yay on a team and watch them roll back the clock
Good idea for improvement. But, at the same time, if they loose very terribly(possible), it will paint a not so nice narrative.
bad idea, they'd get stomped and everyone would shit even more on gc. maybe have them play in challengers/ascension playoffs at best and reach champions from there (it's never happening)
I think it reduces the quality and credibility of the matches played in Champs
I'd rather watch a team full of streamers attempting a run at champs for fun than a GC team getting absolutely rolled on by dragon ranger gaming
is very much counter intuitive as to why GC exists in the first place and will directly rival tier 2 system. People will see it as an easier way to get into big events rather than seeing it as an inclusive step.
16 slots = 4 slots per region. Do we take away a slot from a region or have 17 teams? or do we get 2 gc teams?
