No. As i remember it the Guard didnt want to sign the TPA which would have contractually obligated them to requirements they didnt want ro fullfill. Therefore the Guard was out.
After releasing the players G2 signed them as FAs and Riot begrudgingly accepted them in.
That kind of set the precedent for someone swooping in for PCFs slot.
Riot should do something against this though. Neither any of the ascended players nor the ascended org will compete in T1 rendering ascension obsolete

This is so unfair. Genuinely bring in DNYSTY. whoever the five players they pick up are they will not have actually “ascended”. This is TGRD/G2 situation if it was fucking horrible. Like at least with them they go signed together by a NON-VCT team at the time. This is like if TGRD was called C9xTGRD and when they ascended c9 dropped their entire roster for TGRD and then sold the slot to G2. This can’t be allowed.
I genuinely feel awful for DNSTY because now when you look back at that match, the only thing PCF would've got out of it is gatekeeping them from tier 1

This is a disgrace, if the org were never capable of operating at T1 level they shouldn’t have been allowed to participate in ascension. This is slanderous as there are other orgs who have worked tirelessly but failed to win ascension

BBL exploited rules. They are fine. Only question is what riot does with the slot and maybe rule changes for the future.
All VCL Turkiye followers have been confused about this for a while since this was known all along. But Riot didnt stop them.
It's a farce and another example of the flaws of the ascension system.
There's not really a point of promoting a team based on competitive merit if they can be stripped of the merit like this.
Thats why Riot should be far stricter about the orgs it allows.
Ascension is more about the orgs ascending than the players/teams
