how can you guys make the claim that america has no original or "authentic" food while the national dish of the UK is fucking tikka masala? like really?

anything made or adapted in the US. tikka masala is a british dish imo I’m just pointing out hypocrisy
Considering the food you are most known for (Hamburgers) originated in Germany i highly doubt that.
Ground beef originated in Germany. The making the burger a sandwich as well as adding cheese was invented in America.
Considering you claim doner which is Turkish, I am not surprised you’re claiming Hamburgers.
I dont consider Döner to be german. And it is literally called a HAMBURGer. Quiet alot of foods are named after the cities they originated from in Germany.
are you fr? the hamburg steak was created in germany, not the hamburger. either way no one here gives a crap about the hamburger because we eat cheeseburgers which is most definitely our thing
south asian cooks in the UK made it so to the UK it's their home dish idrk and idrc either all that much it tastes good.
But in terms of like normal british food I'm thinking of the pub classics usually and it's all just bland and brown
nah fish and chips are alright fish and chips with a little salt and vinegar and mushy peas are so good. That with a tartar makes it that much better. Other pub classics look meh
other than that i really liked nandos..but its origins isnt from britain i think
it's a south african company that specializes in Portugese-style grilled chicken lol
why do people keep saying ts is British i do not understand
most of us have not had nandos even once in our life
Nandos is pretty much ingrained into British culture. Basically the whole "Cheeky Nandos" shtick is what makes Nandos seem like a British restaurant chain experience despite it being South African and Portuguese.
British person here, Tikka Masala originated in the UK by South Asian communities. So it is South Asian by nature, but happened on British land. The claims on who made it are still up in the air whether it was Bangladeshi migrants, a Pakistani chef or an Indian chef. Regardless, it was an adaptation of South Asian cuisine using what was available in the UK at the time.

You are correct chicken wings are american
I agree
Yes authentic lmao
Surprised you didn’t call this a hot dog too
5 - are chickens only in the US?
7 - it is found all over the american countries, and even in Europe and Africa.
8 - i didn't because its french bread
5 - we invented fried chicken wings bro google is free
7 - cornbread is invented by native americans bro. Where do you think corn comes from
8 - philly cheesesteak is on a hoagie and you called that a hotdog
5 - are you saying that no one tried to eat it before?
7 - corn came from Mexico, and native people in south america had it even before the europeans arrived.
8- thats a hotdog with meat n cheese
5 - yes
7 - corn wasn’t just in mexico lol. Cornbread is a recipe adapted by european settlers from native roots. South America and Mexico don’t eat cornbread the way it’s made in the USA
8 - TIL bread + meat = hot dog
I shed a tear realizing the people downvoting you will never eat a po boy in New Orleans or a cheesesteak in philly
misinformation is also free over there 😭 and we can't be calling po boy or cheese steak "authentic american food" like they were products of real circumstances and cultural development.
You think they were made under fake circumstances?
What are you even implying?
Jesus christ you’re an idiot.
yea chicken wings is insane but tbh im willing to give them corn because the main reason they have so much corn is their government directly encoraging stupid nasty uses nobody else would do with it because they oversaturated it for ??? I can even remember the intended use anymore, but basically they had too much so made nasty food with it

There man I did the googling for you. Now you can stop spreading nonsense
Really? Interesting, I'd never heard of the clearly 'Scottish' words" 'tikka' and 'masala' before or any of the 'Scottish' things they use to make - a 'tandoor', 'garam masala'
It was invented in Scotland by people coming to live here from SEA (which part is still debated) for a British pallette using the ingredients that were available.
Like most dishes, it's a product of it's circumstances, which ARE uniquely British.
Best Picture and Best Cinematography winning "American Beauty" level plastic bag or just a regular one?
we have authentic foods theyre just shit mate (apart from sunday roast and english breakfast)
it’s either fish and chips or tikka masala. if we use european logic tho, fish and chips aren’t even british either
