I feel like people tend to overestimate the difference between winning champs and a masters.. I just read a thread in which winning champs counted the same as winning two masters!

Winning champs is harder in theory because you have more teams to play against and teams that performed well throughout the year are prioritized vs teams that have had a hot streak. However, in a masters, the 4th best teams in each region that would have made it to champs get eliminated by the better teams in their regions which you have to beat anyway to win the masters... do you really need to prove you're better than talon if you're better than prx?

Also, momentum and form makes a world of difference in Val.. look at teams like mibr that are in terrible shape yet make masters over teams like lev/loser of NRG/C9 that will undoubtedly do better at champs. So in a way, you play against easier opponents during champs!

I personally would weight champs slightly more than a masters.. but 10 pts for a champs win and 5 pts for a masters win is wild to me

How does ascension work? I was looking at Pacific ascension 2025 and saw that both Nongshim and Boom have to play in it. So does a previously ascended team always have to play in every ascension? I'd never heard about G2 having to play in ascension, do they play in it every year because they arent franchised?
