PACIFIC has been the best region since the start of 2025. Not since the middle of 2024 lol (EMEA and AMER had better average placements at Shanghai than PAC, and PAC in Champs 2024 was 💀).
Event Tier Ranking:

- A: Kickoff Masters (Madrid, Bangkok), LOCK//IN

Reasons why EWC is not mickey (give your arguments against this if you can use logic):
- VCT Stage 1, the tournament that qualified teams to Toronto (which you guys do not say is Mickey despite some momentum/warm-up disadvantages for 1st seed teams in Toronto playoffs), is the same tournament that qualified teams to EWC/gave advantages for the 3rd/4th place VCT Stage 1 teams in the EWC qualifer. Teams were trying to qualify to EWC and Toronto when playing in VCT Stage 1 (EWC was a higher priority though since it has a higher prize pool).
- The higher prize pool (1.25mil > 1mil. 500k for the winner at EWC > 350k for the winner at Toronto)
- No byes for any teams (no teams are instantly in playoffs). This makes it so that all teams are equally warmed-up when in playoffs and Single-Elim is valid (the real best team wins).
REGION RANKING EVERY YEAR (not based on trophies but actual region performance as a whole):
- 2021: EMEA >>> AMER >>>>>>> PAC
- 2022: AMER > EMEA > PAC >>> CN
- 2023: AMER > EMEA >> PAC >>> CN

Not downvoting you, i half agree, I think the EWC should be considered a Masters-level event, but the way its setup and everything it just feels so weird, it doesn't feel like an international tournament and does feel like a goofy offseason thing. I hope its fixed next year so it can really live up to that masters-level tournament like it should. Also the fact its practically immediately after masters doesn't help it at all, i have only watched a couple games from the EWC and I tend to watch a lot of masters with friends regardless if my team is playing or not, just doesn't feel right

Prize pools don’t matter. Every Toronto team had not enough time to change stuff before ewc and it’s on the old patch so they had to practice an old patch to play it. Bo1 first match is silly and so is single elimination playoffs. Valorant is way to inconsistent pf a game for teams to not have a lower bracket. Also it’s right after Toronto and like a day after China first games so the Chinese teams had to practice 2 different patches because stage 2 and ewc are so close together. Groups was also online which always counts toward ping differences which doesn’t matter much but is a dig at the tournament

EWC can't be anything else than a mickey for the simple reason that compared to Riot international tournaments EWC has been subpar, a lot of tech issues, the fact that its played on online servers and not on LAN (at least for a lot of the group stages match idk bout playoffs), the fact that it starts with BO1's, the EWC Format is litterally the same format as the CS Major, format that the cs community has been begging valve to change for years since its hot ass, EWC in theory should be master level but with the amounts of problems they have this year it's not even close

PAC #1 in 2024 shows how much memory loss / how brainwashed you are.

AMER had tied average placement with PAC in Madrid.
EMEA and AMER had better average placement in Shanghai than PAC.
AMER and EMEA had INSANELYY better average placement in Champs 2024 than PAC.

EMEA also had better finals (Champs, Masters) than PAC (Kickoff Masters, Masters) in 2024. China had the best trophy in 2024 (Champs > Masters > Kickoff Masters).
PAC is in no way the best region of 2024

obviously you are a new VCT watcher saying this. it is debatable because americas was only optic/loud until champs 22 while EMEA was competitive the whole year FNC/FPX/TL/GUILD/G2/M3C/ACEND and VERYYY unlucky at Reykjavik 2022.

in Reykjavik 2022, FPX(the best team of EMEA and easily the best team in the world) couldnt attend due to Ukraine-Russia War.
In Reykjavik 2022, FNATIC also had 2 subs (Derke got covid, Braveaf was gone due to Ukr-Rus War).

bro a region strength isnt determined by the top teams even so GenG was the best team of 2024 but even looking within region it was way more competitive the only real weak teams in pacific at the time were bleed, zeta, dfm. and when you look at americas they had furia, mibr, nrg, eg and the skill difference between bottom apac and bottom americas is pretty large. i know pacific didnt have a good champs that year but geng was in group of death and champs was honestly mickey asf L0VI0T0N made top 3 LMAO.
