I respect everything except for the acend pick. Lets be totally honest here. That Acend champs run was the most fluke run of all time. None of the players on that team are even in T1 anymore and GMB shouldve won champs 100%. Everything else makes sense and can be genuinely argued for

only team to do so in a single year
and their run was no fluke, they were better than all the teams they beat
and 4/5 (bonecold retired) of their players are still at least tier 1 level

Acend were better than gambit on the day, they have never shown anything close to that performance after that grandfinals. But I agree, no run can be considered a fluke, if you win that day you win.

Cned is the only player from Acend who has had relative success and rn he is mia
Acend is literally dominated EMEA in 2021. They won 2 european championships. They beat the prime gambit 3 times and became world champions. They were always better than gambit. Cope

yes ofc sen didnt but the thing is sen is qualifying for internations in a time where its objectively tougher to qualify for internationals not saying back then it was easy but back then they had to face br and latam teams to qualify fo international no disrespect but br teams were always ass except furia in late 2022 and early 2023 so ya .
LOUD (or VKS before them) qualified for every single international event up until Masters Madrid. They missed out on Shanghai and then the team management decided to jump off a cliff. That's 10 straight international tournaments, mind you. Regardless of what you think of the difficulty of qualification now vs. then, the post clearly states "achievements over the [past] 5 years," in which LOUD have inarguably attained more

if we're talking about achievements, i think it's pretty clear
1 - FNC for every trophy they've won plus the theirtournament record
2 - PRX for their victories and not ending behind 4th place in tournaments that really matter
3 - LOUD for obvious reasons, they dominated for quite a few years
4 - SEN for every placement they had plus their 2 masters, even though everyone they faced in their early years were fodder (besides in Reykjavik)
5 - OPTIC and they're only here for consolation, cuz they were practically 1 and done, 2022 being their only year but they still dominated then, so who knows what could've been
HM: EDG, given their constant participation in world tournaments and their contribution for the chinese valorant region
OPTIC was 2nd place at Masters Berlin. Won Iceland, Shouldve won Champs Istanbul but got 2nd. They for sure deserve the spot xD

So imo that doesn't compensate them for being higher than 5
But they were good in 2021 and 2022 and the team just disbanded. The core further made it back with NRG having an okay 2023 losing lock in to LOUD and a top 4 at tokyo. Sure its the not the same org but they for sure deserve the 5th place and shouldnt be a Consolation prize. Also you say EDG deserve a shout when they have been ass at the international stage for all but 2 events.
Why not consolation prize? They literally only did something for one year and dipped, that's my whole point. And like I said about edg being a honorable mention, they have been a team that has been playing in EVERY major tournament and has lifted a champions trophy, while also getting 3rd place in the last masters.
We're talking about achievements as a team and NRG are just ass, straight up. As I said, it was a consolation prize because they've only existed for one year and were very dominant, or else I'd have put EDG there for everything they have done and bringing fame for the Chinese valorant. Influence matters as well when we talk about achievements.
no hate but only reason they made every LAN is because they played in China. China nowadays is good but 2022 -2024 they were not and EDG were just the best of the worst region. Sure champs was amazing but you need to remember OPTIC were good under the ENVY banner also. And the team just broke up. That doesnt take away anything from how good the team was
I ain't taking away anything from Optic, the only reason I put them in 5 is exactly for what they did when they were active, hence why I said consolation prize, cuz 1 year doesn't make up for 5, and still they're one of the greatest, for sure.
Sure, China is the worst region probably (cuz America exists), but considering they beat teams from all over the world as well and have in better positions than most other teams. Especially with their growth for the international theme and dominance from last year, combining everything they have done for the chinese side of Valorant, I truly believe they deserve to be discussed as top 10, maybe top 5 as I mentioned them, behind only Optic.
Then again, it's my opinion of EDG right now, so we'll see in the future. It's only natural that things change.
well in that case you could also make a shout for T1 cause they beat the No1 seed of all the regions to win Bangkok. I get what you mean but I still think they are too overrated.
If loud 22 and fnc 23 never broke up then there would be a 2 team dynasty and tourneys would only matter to see who would get 3rd

It's fascinating that OPTIC even after getting disbanded and before the franchising era people still refer them as top 5 maybe even top 3 for some and I think the Val community will never forget them
