One dash could be good but won't be enough. I hate the tropes of nerfing an agent, let's be real, beside omen and Viper every other smoker is between bad and trash and this is the problem :
- Omen : Up to 5 smokes in the round + 2 TP + 1 Flash
- Astra : If 5 smoke in the round, then no other spells
- Brim : 3 smokes in the round max + 1 molly + 1 stim
- Harbor : lol (I dont need to say why he is currently worst agent even if he receive no nerf since his release, he needs a massive rework)
- Clove : rofl (We need to target nerf soloQ and target up proplay anyway, but Riot don't want that because they want to preserve "identity of the agent")
Last viable controller release was in 2021, of course he got no concurrences
The reason why Riot don't want to up controller is that they are afraid of double controller meta, but it's inevitable, let's see the options :
- Nerf controller by nerfing everything beside smoke : All dome controller will feel the same and only smoke will be relevant (+ infinite queue time since smoker are even more unappealing)
- Nerf controller by nerfing their smoke : Then you need more smoke to compensate, so doble smoke meta
- Up every other controller : Then controller are too strong and we go to doble controlelr meta
- Release another viable controller (New agent is in 2 week) : you might end up with Omen PLUS this new agent (The same way it did for Viper Harbor)
Smoke is way too important in atk and in defense, Riot is only delaying the inevitable double controller meta that will happen at smoke point in T1 (Even more since that's the more strategic comp, and for T1 this will be master, T2 might be safe by lack of time to prep). Tejo just bought them time, same for Clove and Harbor (release one good agent and it's over), same for Omen being OP and able to have 5 smokes in a round and abilities (Reduce to 3 or 4, and thats the GG, you will lack of smoke in the round and need another smoker)
