I think they were probably looking for someone with canadian citizenship so they could guarantee there wouldn't be further visa issues
(still could have picked up FNS smh)
because tier 1 teams wouldn't let an opponent borrow players
and penny is like one of the only canadians in tier 2 that are actually good in tier 2
So who canadian tier 2 players better than him? 2021 is not long a go it's just 3 years + penny still 22 y/o still very young
And no buyout from penny's current team, personally really wanna see satelite on masters
That's what he's saying dawg... How can penny be a rising star when he was already in the spotlight before lmao. You wouldn't say Victor is a rising star if he played in tier 2 and came back to tier 1.
He's canadian so you don't need to worry about getting a visa. The visa process takes a long time. Besides serial plays senti
While he may be a duelist he has also flexed and with TL’s roster they can make that work roles wise
canadian & time constraints, roster lock was on the like 29th or 30th + keiko said they didnt really have many options
Everyone has mentioned he's Canadian, but I'd also like to emphasize that he's quite a good duelist with a history of flexing. Serial can play sentinel and they can easily lean into a puggy double duelist setup. Wouldn't be surprised if they threaten upset wins despite the sudden roster change and losing their most impactful player.
Canadian player in canada I assume had to be at least a small part of the reason
