Santiago: Nrg placed better, but lost to prx and ns, the same as g2. They also struggled a lot more vs bbl, another common opponent.

dont get me wrong g2 has been fantastic this year as per the norm for them and discounting ewc its pretty close, nrg has looked better than g2 at both santiago and london (though both had mid performances in london) and g2 has been better regionally.

Nrg don’t get the same comments because they struggle more regionally, so people didn’t give them a whole lot of shit when they got grouped at London for an example

nrg players choose to display less of a competitive personality online (imo), while g2 players play into it, so people give them more shit for not having won anything

This specific case was very disrespectful from g2, but g2 get way more hate for trash talk than nearly any team, like fnc or Sen who also have loudmouth players

At first in 24, people pretended that they were going on a fluke run and didn’t give them credit then in 2025 it was because they were cocky, and now it’s because they are chokers or whatever. Don’t feel like they get credit when they do play well compared to other good teams.
If you’re using their opponents to argue NRG’s 3rd place is not better than G2’s 4th place, then the same argument applies in London. G2 lost to XLG and got 0-2ed by FUT. NRG won against XLG, were one round away from winning against FUT, and lost to the tournament winners. I have no doubt in my mind NRG would’ve done far better than G2 if they made playoffs.
In Santiago, NRG won a series against PRX and lost a close series against them. G2 got handled by PRX and got the easier bracket in playoffs.

G2 didn’t look great vs nrg, but your forgetting Nrg did also lose twice vs prx. I also very much disagree with the London argument. Teams forms vary throughout the tournament. The xlg that beat g2 was in better form than the one that lost to nrg, kinda like how lev that lost to prx wasn’t the same lev that played them in the grand finals.
Hard disagree about the playoffs bracket. Going through BBL (whose coach admitted they planned to pick NRG so obviously anti-stratted them) and PRX is harder than AG and NS. NRG had to go through two good teams to reach upper finals, G2 only had to go through one. I'm aware NRG lost twice to PRX. They still 2-0'd PRX for one Bo3, and the Bo3 they lost to PRX was a lot closer than G2's series against PRX.
In London, NRG 2-0'd XLG and were one round away from 2-0ing FUT. G2 got 2-0'd by FUT and the maps they lost against XLG were not close.

Otherwise the argument can be made that NRG played against NS that were in better form after beating M8 and G2. Then they used the momentum from those wins to 3-0 PRX.
From your other comments, it seems like you primarily take issue with people clowning on G2. Personally, I admire consistency so I actually do think highly of G2. But at the end of the day, ring culture exists and trophies matter so G2 will be called chokers until they get a win. And even then, that's not going to stop people finding a way to meme G2 similar to PRX.
