i think he may be referring to how much vct pacfic and vct cn overlap
like usually when the first matchup of pacific is done the first map for vct cn starts so
CN and APAC are literally next to each other, it's not as if edg or cn is attracting international viewers , most comes from apac anyway. Apac franchising isn't exactly the largest in terms of viewership so they definitely need them rn, and to add cn barely relies on international viewers as greatly as apac does.
Unless pacific and cn are being held in a different time maybe it works I guess.

how? the regular CN stream on youtube usually only reached 1k ish viewers. not counting big games like in playoffs or something, but pacific viewership is 10k ish on yt and another 15k in twitch. that's regular league match numbers. if they decided to get a set of english casting staff this wouldn't even hurt pacific. losing 1k-2k ish viewers won't do shit.
That's because it's in CN and no one understand shit except those 1k people, if you add EN stream to CN region that means more and more people will watch CN, 25k views per regular match isn't a number to be proud of and losing more than that is just a bad look.
wrong, because most of those 1k viewers came from SEA like vietnam and thai and indo. and that was when they overlap the stream too.

So you wouldn't assume that people will just switch from pacific to cn? Like I said our viewership is not big enough for sharing viewers.

Because when riot decided to merge the sea region everyone was bitching about it not realizing that they are partly to blame as well. And when that happens people will question why japan become a separate region by itself not understanding the fact that Japan invested the most in this game unlike other regions and by a huge margin too, I type here in favor of VCJ , and sadly VCJ is easily affected by its surroundings.
the merger of SEA region had more negative impact rather than a positive one. for one they shouldn't make it a single region. because we have too many potential teams and players, especially with indo, thai, and vietnam. what they shouldve done was make it 2 big sub region, south for indo, mysg, thai and ph and the other for vietnam, hktw, cambodia and potentially, mongolia. viewership will be better for them because they will be carried by thai, indo, vietnam and hktw. the problem was in viewership, but they had choices to make it better.
it doesn't make any sense if you compare it with having an english casting stream for CN.
I don't think it will have that much of an impact, I can only see it happening is if there's a super hype match (e.g. FPX vs EDG) and there being a very boring pacific match (not giving examples so I don't get cooked). Even if there's a mid pacific match I think it'll have minimal impact
I hope they make an English broadcast next year. Would love to know more about VCT CN.
+1… the only way i watched cn games this year was via ryan central… I don’t usually watch the main streams but I wanna understand what casters are saying in certain situations
