Well yea Leo is really good and consistent, but he is on that highest level since last year really (yea Guild existed but noone cares really)
Aspas on the other hand feels like the best player in the world since he joined LOUD back in the early 2022.
While I feel like Leo, Chronicle and others are in the talks, I see aspas as the goat

he is consistent, just look he is consistently losing and previously he was consistenlty winning, hes on both sides of consistency

Initiator is a lot easier to be consistent on, you just have to use util but with duelist you need to get kills, take space, entry and not die before any of that.

Leo has also been 2nd caller on FNATIC and has god-like communication
Multiple coaches also say that Leo is the perfect player, 0 mistakes, etc
Been a top 5 duelist every year, not a one trick, won an international event and continued to perform across multiple rosters. You can make arguments for who's had the highest peak, but he's been the most consistent duelist
MVP means nothing, it doesnt guarantee you anything, look at zeek where is he now? look at yay struggling in apac, look at suygetsu underperforming this year, while aspas has been consistent since the start

No Leo isn't, although he is my #2 pick as second best player in the world.
I think people are just blinded by his flashy plays. Leo is way more consistent and also doesn't disappear when his team needs him

Aspas has always been in the discussion for best player itw ever since his rookie year in 2022. He might not always be the absolute #1 on every given moment of his career, but he is ALWAYS up there (like, at least top 5 easily) and never really fell off in performance.
Players like TenZ and yay went from 100 to 10 over the years with roster and meta changes, while Aspas always kept an 80-90 without ever dropping so far.
Just look at his match history. Lightning strikes in a sunny day more often than Aspas has a bad individual performance in a series.
Ik he's very consistent and easily top 3 itw. But how can you be considered the "goat" without having any dominant performances internationally?

Cuz he's consistent as ever, is consistently the best player in the world, towards the end of 2022- the present.
It's a forced narrative stemming from a mixture of a lot of things- Figures like Yay, Derke, Demon1 falling off gave a false perception about his consistency + fans regurgitating
extreme glorifying words + the sheer amount of fans that drown out valid criticism and lastly, just the sheer amount revisionistic opinions being thrown around that gets backed up by Aspas's humongous fan base contributes to it all.
Truth is the val is still too young to have a goat. The goat of val is probably too young to play tier 1 yet. Even Faker started solidifying himself as the goat after 3 years of 22' Yay level of consistency with a higher peak than Reykjavik tenz while revolutionizing the way the game was played. He only established himself as THE undisputed GOAT after having one of if not the greatest individual performance in worlds (a performance Aspas has yet to have in his career) ever.
I know it's unfair use Faker as the standard but even when compared to someone like Chovy, Aspas still seems premature.
valorant is still a growing esports there is no goat yet for me but aspas is up there he is consistent and the best duelist arguably his consistency is insane and he puts blownminding stats so for now at least he is the goat unless we see an insane player in the next few years
