imagine if this tournament truly had the best teams, we have FPX who legit look like a T2 team, region doesn't even deserve 2 spots

And so what? Noone can do anything. Riot is basically a Chinese company and china is the largest eSports market by a lot. It would be stupid by riot to not try develop in there. So they have to give these slots to develop the region faster.
with the shareholder percentage its more likely that china would get more spots lmao
They’ve had teams and org support since 2020 as well as tournaments and scrimming with kr/jp/sea for years how much longer do we have to wait for the region to develop?
EDIT: my point is to stop with the "they just need more time to get better" counterpoint. If time was all it takes for teams to develop then orgs like V1 would be world champs by now(the teams that started as soon as val was released) I don't think taking away all their spots is something that should be done but just saying they need more time is dumb and not a solution to the complaint ppl have competitively watching these teams lose
Also the argument that teams HAVE to play in these tourneys as the only way to gain experience is false. These teams need better analysts and coaches to watch these matches and implement the things they see. China had years to watch vct don't use that as a one size fits all arguments winner
And you can't do anything lol. Riot is Chinese company. And region got official just last year still. And scrims alone don't help in improving. You have to wait as long as china wants. Also they have already improved so fast. Lol they would beat most of pacific even without good macro.
So playing in an international tourney against a team from another region helps, but scrimming against a team from another region doesn't? Also I'm not for riot taking away Chinese slots(they wont ever do that anyways because of tencent)
even tho the game didnt release officially till now they've had teams like edg, TOE, and totoro playing for years(2020/2021) longer than some orgs that are T1 in other regions
Sure but the player base is not the same if you need a VPN, talent pool and interest is not nearly as big as it is now
bro, this is not CS, we don't want a major being 22 of 24 teams being western.
Asia needs time and opportunities, even if they are bad.
the players who’ve been playing since 2020 arent the problem its these damn coaches and igls who have one dimensional ideas
when you have a good system like with After and Haodong in EDG these CN teams will actually look good
Hard agree youre telling me these teams have had "coaches" analyzing top-tier tournaments for years without implementing standards on their team? if a team gets stomped on the international stage, whats the point if the players don't learn anything and the support staff don't fix their mistakes?
apac has had multiple podium finishes in international tourneys nice bait. Also Americas>FNC>APAC>EU
the matchfixing scandal sort if killed the Chinese Valorant scene in 2021 tbh. A lot of orgs withdrew and KK played on a Taiwanese org at one point
why care about developing a doghsit region that's never been good
wasting spots on chinese teams is braindead, they are literally free wins for whoever is playing against them
It's like 1 of 8 teams. Removing their spot they won't developed. Fpx played loud and kc give them a break man most teams aren't gonna beat those 2.
ikr they lost 13-11 with 0 pistols against LOUD...we aint playing 100T here, these guys gotta chill
FPX would have beat half of the teams in Americas and EMEA leagues, that is not tier 2 gameplay.
If you don't know anything it's better to stop waffling
It's insane ppl trashing on fpx so hard when they literally played kc and loud. What other team would win in this position that's not already in Madrid.
i disageree with the premise of spots on china being wasted, but your counterpoint is just bad, fpx beating half of the teams in EMEA and americas, or being .500, is not good enough for an international event
what I mean by that is, the gap between the regions is not as big as people like to claim.
so if we compare FPX with say the 3rd best team from EMEA or Americas who would get the spot instead, FPX would have good chances to beat a EG or FNC
FPX would have a good chance to beat EG but EG aren't even top 5 in Americas, and they would lose to FNC in a similar way to how they lost to KC, 2 close maps
no they do not. They make so many mistakes and FNC have boaster who knows how to exploit mistakes
i disagree with the post but fpx definitely not beating half of americas/emea. probably bottom 3 team
8 team tournaments are just stupid tbh so it's impssible to give China 1 and another region 3
When it's 12 teams it should be 4-3-3-2 tho like last year
But this year they absolutely gave 3 slots each to all the regions and masters madrid winner still needs to qualify for Shanghai through stage 1
Riot is developing multiple regions at a time and unlike an open-circuit you'll see regions starting to level-up a lot quicker... Mainly cause they have acess to not only there local LAN league but, international play...
So, is what it is... What we need is a damn REPLAY SYSTEM!!!
if a T2 can put Loud on verge of 13-11.
Im Sorry Bro Americas and evry region is done for.
China deserves 2 slots for master and 3 for champs!!
But roit took the winners slot and gave it to China which is a bad move from them tbh!!
Some teams are bound to lose 2 matches, if it's not fpx, it'll be other teams
its not about their losses, its about how they lose, did you even watch their games, 0 teamplay, their mid round is awful, it legit looks like a ranked game
