Kekw. Nice 5am games for Cali, very smart.
mate only knows twitch stream on Valorant channel...you know there is HUGE numbers on chinese, japanese and SEA streams that dont use twitch?
ever considered that they also like to watch over there?? when they played in Europe and Brazil they had like 60k+ viewers on Japanese streams when they also had shit times to watch :)
You do realise that most of the sponsors that we currently have have made contracts since 2021 and are still valid right?
Verizon
HyperX
Prime Gaming
SecretLab
Red Bull
Have been here for so long, they are not going anywhere soon because the viewership is a bit lesser in comparison to whatever it was in lock//in
The only New sponsors we just got were Mastercard
The sponsors will stay here even if he we get like 300k viewers lol
I don’t think viewers are as valuable as in house crowd though- there is a much bigger crowd this time around which certainly is a good thing
If you want viewership then they definitely want china viewership. The 2019 worlds final have 104mil peak viewers from china alone and 200mil in 2018. Besides the japan venue have 5k seats each cost 40$ so around 200k/day x 10 = 2 million usd before the finals and another 40x9000 = 360k x 2 = 720k vs 2mil = 2,72mil just from the tickets alone.
Yea ikik, Apac never complains abt anything, im just addressing u saying the whole "be glad its in NA this year", I would usually be glad it was in NA but unluckily its taken 3 years for them to give us one major so it feels less like a privilege and more like something that should've came a long time ago.
Yea I'm not arguing for the crowd though, I'm arguing for the venue and the principle. They weren't thinking "ok well since if we put it in NA it wont have a crowd anyways, we might as well just put it here". They were just placing it in other places out of personal choice. It's not "well Na didn't get an online tourney hosted here for 2 years, and a in person tourney for one" its the principle that they didn't give the most competitively relevant region a single event until 3 years in, and a lot of other shitty things Riot has been doing to make it a lil harder for NA but we dont gotta get into those because that's just a loophole of back and forth.
Yea once again my whole point of it being the principle of not giving a single event to NA flew over your head, also yes, it is the most competitively relevant region, I dont even wanna get into it with you about how because that's just gonna be a massive time waster.
To summarize though, most competition, most thriving T2 scene, most individual talent, most orgs, most org funding, most competitive/streamer personalities, most org profit, more competitive popularity, most viewership (at least in profitable avenues), I could go on for days but I'm tryna get this summative done and study for my exams.
well they are prob one of the most relevant atm....China do be coming for it at somepoint i guess....T2 is falling apart after they choose to dump all their teams, so they might struggle to maintain that insane T2 scene, that is the best by far, i agree.
the talent and most orgs just aint true....that is Pacific as it literally has about 10 times the population and way more players....and also there are so many orgs that play in T2 that are huge names in other esports
If you say your org profit then why is everyone letting their staff go in NA like the Guard, 100T and Cloud9? dont hear that from any org in the other regions tho that might just not make the news as much. But you got Bleed and others making insane offers cause they swim in money from their sponsors.
It is still the most relevant mostly because of the huge backing of gigantic streamers like tarik, shroud etc.
Okay yea the talent thing I agree on, I guess I mean like promoted talent, you dont hear shit about a talented player in pacific so they probably will never get the recognition they deserve, and therefore might not get an opportunity to represent their region, whereas in NA, ppl know whos good and whos not all the way down to the high T3 level. Also yea, I'm not really talking about those orgs though, the general understanding is that NA owns all the most valued org's, recently every org everywhere has been going through financial problems, but firstly you'd only really here about primarily the NA ones because they're more popular, and on top of that, NA has like 3/4 of 5 of the most valued orgs.
yes but much of the value of e.g. 100T is defined by there signed Streamers and appearel, same with many of the other orgs. i would take C9 and TSM out of it because they have been succesful in many different esports.
tho it is part of every org i think of the likes of FNTIC, TL, T1 EDG and those sorts because they have success in more than just Val like SEN. and i would also argue that those 4 orgs prob take the bag of any of the orgs in NA right now as those org (after short google search tbf) havent had any real financial porblems
Edit: and if you look up the most valuable orgs only forbes has so many NA orgs... everywhere else they are basically not featured with orgs like G2, DWG, NAVI, OG, Astralis, Vitality joining the others on most valued ahead of basically every NA org not named TSM or FaZe
I think this Masters is probably the event where we have so many streamers given Streaming rights for the matches.
If we bundle all of them (Val eSports released a 3 picture Instagram post so can only imagine) along with YouTube, Twitch and Chinese streaming platforms I don't think the viewership is anywhere near bad.
i am pretty sure riot knows viewership is gonna to be smaller. the games are overlapping with my sleeping schedule and although it sucks for me, i am aware that all international championships have been like that to asian val fans, so i just suck it up. sucks for me, but i am very happy that they finally have a tournament with a nice schedule for them.
the world doesn't turn around me and that's fine
