kinda just wanna know your thoughts tbh. i love val but i've always preferred the simplicity and barebones nature of cs, which val is rapidly deviating from. which game do you think is better and why.
P.S: stop saying "cs will kill val". the game has attracted a community of its own seperate from cs, and therefore isn't dying anytime soon.

those people probably dont understand how different val and cs are, just because the core fundamentals are similar does not mean that they play similar or feel similar

Valorant more interesting to watch. Cs maybe if the top team playing but the games are so long and feels like the meta is solved.

to a degree it is, but this is because the game has been neglected by devs for far too long. This new update could be pretty upsetting tho, if executed properly

imo valorant is a lot easier to come in as someone unfamiliar with the game and watch casually, maybe competitively not so much but still watchable.
CS is a bit worse casually for me than val, but once you learn cs and even watch it with a bit higher of level of understanding the game becomes so much more fun. That said, val is hell in lower mmr and ranks but cs is rampant with cheaters rn

i've seen a lot more people argue the opposite actually, valorant seems way harder to follow for the casual viewer. hell, even viewers who've played a decent amt have a hard time following it

True, at the start i tried val and gave up cus the abilities weren't easy to get used to. However I had a background of CS 1.6, I played when I was like 6/7/8. CS is kind of friendly cus you could just run and shoot at lower levels but in Val you have to learn the abilities. However Val abilities are quite encouraged from the start, so it's kind of easier to grasp than CS utils.

As much as valorant is toxic, I couldn't stand 1 game of cs, but even so, I always found cs more fun.

If the same cs toxicity remains there, I will definitely stay on valorant

CS esports scene is 10x better, S tier tournaments every month, but valorant is more fun to play

I like watching Valo because changing metas always make the game unique and the comp a team will bring is also quite interesting. CS for me has been a game I only played with friends and while its fun I just enjoy valo more

overwatch was the first esport I watched and I think the first fps I played so I'm just more attracted to val. I'm not good at cs but I don't want to try to get better either, doesn't make me want to comeback and keep playing for some reason. It's sometimes fun to play with friends once in a while when we have no clue what else to play

I play cs sometimes, don't really watch because I find it kinda boring. Valorant is my main game and I absolutely love the Valorant esports scene because of what it has done for my region

Both are fun. Valorant is fun because its always exciting to learn new agents and lineups/setups. You get really different experience depending on which agent you play, and also the games change a lot depending on comps the teams are running. Also because Valorant feels way easier in entry level average players usually get some value out of their utility. Like you rarely walk into site without smokes or info stuff because they are super simple abilities to use. While when you play CSGO in MM or low/mid Face It no one knows any smokes. Maybe there's like one guy who knows B window or A stairs smokes on Mirage but outside of that it can be really shitty experience. Stuff like double smoking Nuke outside to enter secret is something no one I've played with knows about while in Valorant even irons would do it.

While in opposite side I think CSGO gunplay is better and more rewarding and requires more skill. Valorant simple gun mechanics are fun sometimes because it forces you to click head, but I really like CSGO spray.

like both games have their negatives and positives. Overall Valorant games feel more "complete" because of easy to use utility, while CSGO feels more sweaty because team that knowns their shit will fuck you up.

I can't actually find a favorite. I started playing FPS games for real with VAL around 2020, but i used to play CS:GO as a total noob when i was younger; I decided to revisit it recently, and now that i actually know how to aim and basic concepts and tactics, it's 10x more fun then it was. In the end i really like both, and have fun equally playing casual or comp with friends.

I like csgo more as a game, as an asian i like valorant more as an esport because of how much more internationally spread the talent is. csgo is just a European esports at this point

To be fair though IHC and Rare atom have made some pretty good runs recently and there is definitely reason to be exited for the future of asian cs

grew up playing 2 iterations of cs for almost a decade so i'll have a bit of bias towards cs i must say, but i enjoy val as well, both playing and watching, although val t2 matches are a slugfest and cs t2 matches are more structured

Both are fun but I somewhat prefer CS' gunplay, idk it's just more satisfying. But heard from CS2 beta testers that the satisfaction's kinda gone

Let's be real. If Riot were to make Valorant 2, I bet they would put way more effort than Valve did in CS 2

i find valorant more interesting and easy, because of different agent and abilities and not everytime you have to always go and kill , u can be useful with abilities too unlike cs

valorant will not die lmao, the game is more fun for the casual audience. CS2 basically implemented things that valorant was better at, for eg UI and graphics besides the smoke rework. Even if valve can maintain this game like riot does with val with constant updates, it will only split the community.

Competitively, val just had franchising and challengers league is also set so it isnt dying anytime soon. Any org entering CS now will only face losses unless they acquire a team full of tier 1 pros like c9 did which is so tough. Also val is more worldwide, in cs its only EU and CIS which offer competition to each other.
