“The man with the plan, the presence in the room, the team sentinel. We greatly appreciate the time spent together and will be cheering you on in your future endeavors,” Shopify Rebellion posted on X.

Prior to joining SRG, GUGLi coached QLASH QLASH Inactive Sab1nho mass3R Umberto Artuso LOMBA EduCoz , an Italian team competing in VCL 2024. He later earned a spot as an assistant coach on Cloud9 Cloud9 North America Rank #14 FireBallOps Cameron Tomaselli Zellsis Jordan Montemurro Jackk Jack Foote OXY Francis Hoang v1c Victor Truong , where he manned the coaching booth alongside Ian "Immi" Harding for an entire season before Cloud9 released him at the end of VCT 2025: Americas Stage 2.

In January, GUGLi officially signed with Shopify Rebellion Gold ahead of their promotion/relegation match in VCL 26: NA Stage 1. The Game Changers squad defeated Winthrop University Winthrop University North America Rank #2 Veyron strongtallguy62 Fair Governor Peter No infiltrator Philip Nguyen , sending them to VCL 26: NA Stage 2. SRG finished winless, but well-prepared ahead of GC 26: NA Stage 1.

GUGLi coached SRG to a 4-0 first-place finish in the Stage 1 Swiss stage. In the playoffs, the Canadian organization lost their opening match, but ran the lower-bracket gauntlet and advanced to the grand final, where they lost to SwimTrek Blue SwimTrek Blue North America Rank #53 eli venture k0rupt Wylie Watts Bob Bob Tran CHAROD Sean Zaletel 3-1.

Heading into Stage 2, SRG closed the Swiss stage 4-1. On September 1, the team will meet HIMMERS HIMMERS North America Rank #26 ennui colby cyn yuhan Slandy Presley Anderson in the upper quarterfinals of the Stage 2 playoffs. SRG enters the tournament without a head coach.

For GC, they're gonna end top 3 / top 2 in their own region and qualifying for for GCC is in the air.
For NACL, they are unlikely to qualify.
In comparison to their last year second place finish in GCC, they looked worse in their games through the current stage + pugs I managed to watch.

I hold them to a high standard and "no legs to stand on" is exaggerated, but again, they haven't glued together yet with this iteration to be as dominant as GC '25 and changing the coach right before GCC qual matches (unless it's effys) will be a net negative.

I'm open to hear what could be done better for this roster.

You are comparing a team that had 4 out of their 5 players and coach with 3 years of chem to a team that was formed a month ago. Of course they’re going to look “worse” like bffr. Also they added two new players that haven’t been in a structured team environment like SR so naturally there are going to be growing pains.

Well yeah, what else can I compare it to besides the previous iteration of the team?
Time can tell and the matches in front of us if they'll be able to step it up. I'm excited nonetheless.

if srg are make gf's and lose to fly/swim again (i just assume some scenarios) they will play in americas lcs against top2 team from latam, also vs top2 br team (but correct me someone if im wrong)
in comparison srg in '25 and '26 for me, personnaly it's just two different teams. and rn srg look much, much weaker than in '25. they lost mel, than sarah retirement, and now srg lost their coach, it's a huge loss for them, it's obviously.
as i said, if it's not effys, idk what they gonna do.
srg was one of my fav teams since they was version1, and it's really sad to see what happened to their roster now. from 2 time gcc champs, to huge disappointment of the year

I personally don’t think this can be considered a disappointing year when they are constantly having to play catch up to the other NA GC teams. It’s not their fault that two players (especially their igl) left at very inconvenient times. And I don’t think they “lost” gugli, I’m guessing it was a team decision since it’s so close to playoffs.

yeah, it make sense. but we don't know what's actually stay behind in srg, it's only our speculations, and we never know the whole truth. it reminds me last year with falcons when they change their coach before gc pacific starts
yeah, new year, new season, so many teams improved a lot
it's true. loss their two key players, especially igl as u said, it's devastating. but if srg despite all that things are winning stage 2 and qualifies to gcc , it will be good
"disappointment of the year" it's only for me. (i don't mean anything bad)
only one that we can do is just wait and watch what happened next

I wonder if this means effys might be returning to coach SR Gold for the last leg, given that SR Black's season is over. If not effys, I dunno who would be a good pickup to coach Gold.
