The hate they get is nothing compared to actual sports
not to mention that most esports pros are teenagers/ early 20s while most sports pros are late 20s in their peaks
agreed, and also not to mention that in esports there is this expected level of interaction and communication between player and community bc of socials and streaming and they're proximity to the toxicity is high... and that just doesn't exist in pro sports unless you're kevin durant lol

Nah, this is something I can't get behind. Sports are like that no matter what, we were hurling slurs at other school's teams when I was 8 years old, those mfs didn't get paid. They still had to handle the heat.
That's what competition is about. It exists in a social format, when ppl started wrestling as a sport back in our hunter gatherer days, we still were like that.
Competition is primal, and the competitors since existence have handled the hate inside the game. (Outside the game, I agree with your point, but shit talking players in forums or twitch chat when the game is going on is far different than hating them after in social media posts and dms.)

doctors aren't competitors, competition naturally pits people against each other so it's only natural it'd generate more animosity from rival teams. Also because fans naturally have a vested interest in seeing their team perform it makes sense for them to complain and criticise players underperformance

Honestly not true, from what ive seen, teams are adopting strategies that sports psychologists advocate for
you cant get to tier 1 without wanting to win and working hard. i imagine most players are willing to give up temporary pleasure for the sake of improving chances of winning
And I prefer critisisim like "you're trash" or "go back to streaming 2 viewers a night"
