For the latter affair, the power was in FUT's hand to secure their playoff spot, as they were in a win-and-in situation. Vitality on the other hand had to both win their match and pray for FUT's loss. In Stage 1, the Turkish derby featured the longest ever map in VCT with the 48 Ascent game, where BBL edged out FUT on both maps. This time around was a similar story, save for the two hour long bout. FUT did their best to keep up, but BBL stayed ever so slightly ahead, as was the case all year long.

With their loss, FUT, the perennial rock of consistency in EMEA will miss playoffs, and Vitality will take their shot at a run to Champions.

FNATIC also took a quick win over Apeks Apeks Inactive this week, which secured a trip to Champions Paris. For Apeks, it unfortunately concludes their time in VCT EMEA having not found a single match win all year.

Stage 2 will continue with playoffs over the next two weeks, where EMEA's last three Champions representatives will be determined.
