While he awaits surgery, he will be absent from all upcoming events – such as EMEA Stage 2 and the Esports World Cup – and has left coaching duties to Brandon "weber" Weber and Manager Niklas "Niklas" Geiss.

“I will be unable to attend the upcoming events with the boys,” wrote neilzinho. “But [I] will be with them remotely everyday as usual. I will require 2 surgeries but hopefully I can return to the stage as soon as possible.”

The head of Heretics' coaching staff ruptured his ACL and tore his meniscus in his knee. In another reply under his initial announcement, he stated that it will seemingly take “a few weeks [at least]” to undergo surgery.

“I am hoping that I can [at least] walk again within the next 2 weeks,” neilzinho continued. “So I can return to normal life.”

weber is no stranger to stepping up when he is needed. The Brit has worked alongside neilzinho for almost four years under Heretics and even subbed in as a player for the team on multiple occasions.

Team Heretics are set to participate in EMEA Stage 2 and the Esports World Cup, an event they emerged victorious from last year.

The team most recently placed among the top eight at Masters London and look to return to the international stage at Champions Shanghai.
