They aren’t and never were behind by 3 years. The meta changes so much which makes it easier for them to “catch up” and also they’ve had a privilege status with extra tournaments. And the region as a whole is rich. So no that was never the case.

Also the Chinese team that won champs. Was still playing Valorant and attending international events before it officially released in China.

Meta changes doesnt change the fact that the region didn't have an official competitive infrastructure where teams can develop. They started 3 years behind everyone else, and they are catching up yes, but it still requires more time. Being a rich region don't mean shit when you haven't had the time to develop domestic talent. Talent development is not solely dependent on money.

Except they’re still not 3 years behind because they don’t have to learn everything that has happened in those 3 years. They only have to learn what is relevant to the current meta. And when it changes, all the other regions have to change too.

And sure, but it sure does help a lot if the region has a lot of money. Not a sole dependent but definitely a big factor. I mean that’s literally one of the biggest complaints with tier 2 in EMEA. That it’s not profitable for the orgs and supported enough by riot with funding.

It’s always “could” but never “will” lmao, you delusional as fuck if you think a team like mibr whose core consists of all rookies + aspas will do well in Toronto. And no, emea hasn’t won anything since 2023 despite people claiming they look “good” therefore they will remain a 0 region tournament until they actually win something

You literally proved my point by bringing up EDG in the last post. EDG was attending official tournaments before many of the other Chinese teams, and they are the only team that has seen significant success on the global stage within the region. This just proves the importance of having access to official tournaments and getting experience with international teams.

Also, I never said money doesn't help. It does, but time also plays a big factor in talent development.

And yes, you don't have to learn everything in the past 3 years, but meta doesn't change how your team plays fundamentally. You're also forgetting that the game wasn't even officially released in China until 2023, which means the talent pool is simply just more constricted.

vitality sucks so bad there is no way you think they will ever replicate that bangkok run. they are just another flop superteam. TH is the ONLY EMEA team that has even a good chance of making a deep run in toronto. maybe also FNC but much less likely. If EMEA wins this one, it will only be TH that has a chance of bringing it home for EMEA.

They said VIT “looked great at Bangkok”. As in VIT prevented EMEA from being a 0 team region during that time. Not that they will replicate it. Now that has been taken over by TH. Also I’d like to sneak in TL and BBL with the pair you mentioned :)

lowk g2 looked buns in champs so i agree that fnc ended their year better, however its a bit weird when ranking EMEA and AMER in that tourney cuz lev and sen did better than fnc but both lost to TH (lev beat TH in uppers but lost in the lowers). i would prolly have emea and amer be equal in terms of competitiveness in 24 (yk cuz amer won a trophy but emea consistently made grands)
