i know its hard to comprehend but VS/DRX controlled where most of top korean talent went besides for saya and xeta for the first few years

k1ng and lakia for example

this is the first season where drx didnt have a complete monopoly on korean talent and its also the first year where a korean team made a finals, and won another

they kept the same roster for 3 years. the only player they "monopolized" was lakia in 2021. its not fair to say that because buzz and mako also started off as players on weaker and unknown teams (buzz after c9 korea went to basically a 5 stack team), and as geng proved to us, there are so many fantastic players in korea.

Gamergirl is a number one termi hater. They can't appreciate termi's work from behind the scenes. I've even tried explaining why I think termi is a very good coach despite the choices he made with rosters to gamergirl but they don't want to listen or understand.

do we not remember when termi had his baddy era and decided to not call timeouts so stax could IGL better LOL

cost them a few wins icl, but besides from that, drx are pretty good under him! imagine keeping all korean talent to yourself for 3 years just to never win a trophy, but yeah if the objective is being a high ranked loser termi is amazing!

things need to change for drx, you keep pointing fingers at everyone but termi, in 2-3 years you're gonna be looked at as the org that somehow didnt win a single major with mako, a player who dominated as the best in his role for 2+ years lul

I don't think it's completely termis fault that the team choked multiple times although some of the blame does fall on him for that. But the reason why drx was ever relevant was because of his style of coaching which prioritised focus on the fundamentals of the game. He also cooked up really good strats and that got the team past the group stage in almost every tournament they went to. I'm not saying termi is perfect as you pointed out his flaws and mistakes with the team such as not scouting a full flesged igl. All I'm saying is that you blame him for too much that went wrong with the team. If DRX performs this year with almost a completely new team from the OG roster, then some of that success should be attributed to termi as well as the players. If not, then I will admit that it was only the players that made DRX good.
My question to you is; DRX first stuck with the same roster for 3 years before switching things up, and people were mad that the team wasn't showing results. Now, termi has tried changing things up and people are still upset that the team isn't winning anything. What do you think termi should have done with the roster? Should he have stayed with the original 5 for longer? Should he have made changes to the roster at the end of 2024 or was that a mistake too?

roster is good if mako wasnt the one calling tbf, he can get credit for that

but when mako inevitably suffers performance wise, and the team looks terrible mid-rounding you're gonna defend the coach who made those calls

Ok yeah when mako starts slipping in his performance next year, it would be termi's mistake for not signing an igl. But a team with all rookies apart from the igl performing well can only mean that the coach is good at preparing and training the players. The role of a coach is more than just scouting players and building a roster and there are some areas where termi is very very good as a coach.
