Android or iphone?

Which one do you own and which model?
Are you satisfied or want to switch between the two ecosystem?

I own a oneplus 7t which i bought in 2019. Still a great phone. It has a telephoto lens. Phones these days don't offer that at a similar price.
Android is so versatile with tons of flexibility which i love.

The only reason i want to own an iphone is because of the camera. Excellent dynamic range and unmatched video capability. But i hate the restrictions set by ios.

I have my eyes on pixel 8. Android + great camera. Hope it launches soon.

the only thing i like more abt android is the free spotify premium apk i had, besides that, i dont do much on my phone that i need all the customization of an android

ios does basics right. It's great if lack of 3rd party support is not an issue

I own an Iphone 13 Pro Max, and was an android user (HTC One M9, and a Samsung old model) and I’d recommend to you the Iphone for its cam.

If you’re a (1) photographer/wanna take some great photos with great HDR and video; (2) have macbook/macs; (3) geared towards productivity; or (4) just wanna have better general safety features, then I suggest you go for an Iphone. As a photographer, man HDR of new Iphones are awesome and relatively close to photos my Sony A6400 cam can get.

On the other hand, android is better suitable for flexibility, and just playing with apps and suchlike. Just make sure you are happy and satisfied with the quality of the camera you’re looking for in an android.

Cheers :)

Definitely. Apple set a benchmark in terms of camera. Other companies are trying hard to come in the same level but are behind. I have faith on pixels though. They have good cameras. They will only get better. I think we would see a neck to neck competition between pixel and iphone.

Hahahahaha, there is no way that you are comparing an iPhone 13 Pro Max against those androids, have you tried at least a high-end android like a Huawei P/Mate series or a S series of Samsung to give those conclusions?

Well that’s my experience because that’s the phone I have. If you have an android with a superb camera quality, then your opinion will - of course differ. Those are my conclusions based on what I have.

How can I compare an android with my mirrorless camera if I don’t have one? Come on bro of course I’ll compare it with what I have.

I also told him to look for an android with a camera that he’s happy with. No need to be pressed on what opinions others have.

S22 and 23 are great phones. Great camera for still pictures. But i wish they improve their shutter lack when clicking pictures. Pictures sometimes can turn blurry when the subject is in the move. Also the video department is below iphone level.

I agree. The live feed and the ui looked cool. Android definitely took inspiration from windows phone for designing the apps user interface. But you couldn't add wallpaper and windows phone manufacturers were not allowed to customize the UI

iphone. i have an iphone 11 for a few years and i did not feel the need to upgrade at all. meanwhile my cousin who was a diehard android user and always bought the best, had to change his within 2 years or so. iphones takes much longer to get slow and frustrating to use.

i’ve had 3 iphones in my life and they were all great, not once i felt the need to upgrade any of them and the only reason why i ended up buying another was because i got robbed lol

iphone is optimised well but androids with flagship snapdragon processors doesn't slow down so soon. My 3.5 year old oneplus 7t is still butter smooth.

#45

Android is cheaper, it is easier to install third party apps and it is much more customizable than iphone.

Iphone is more expensive but it is usually more optimized and the photos in apps like instagram are not as blurry as it happens in android with some phones.

Also iphone in security has better default settings than android

#46

The Instagram part reminded me of those Instagram days before meta acquired it. I used to have a moto phone and my insta feed became blurry from time to time which made me frustrated.

I personally prefer androids, because of app flexibility which is important to me. Whichever OS you go for, imo its most important to go for a good camera phone, because photos are precious. You only get one chance to capture the moment, so it's best if it isnt ruined by a bad camera. This is the rule of thumb I follow when buying new phones.

#55
Zikos
0
Frags

True. Android Phones have become so good that the only differentiation left is the camera.Samsung and pixel are the leaders but they need to catch up with apple in the video section. Apart from the camera, android is the best there is and does everything better than iphones.

depends of your use
ios: you want to post photos on instagram (perhaps you're a content creator), you want more time of an updated system, is a basic user, wants more security in exchange for limits in your usage (bcoz of the lacking of uncertified apps (i would say it's a double-edged sword)) and have another apple devices
android (i'll use here galaxy s23 for instance): you want more freedom, a better screen, a better cam outta instagram, greater variety of apps, more customization, open source, maybe battery, and usb-c (forgot about this one heh)

Samsung is killing it in the features business. A little bit of camera tweak will make it surpass iphone in terms of camera. The plus point of samsung is that it provides a telephoto lens which iphone lacks. The iphone pro versions do provide zoom lens but are way too costly

Samsung uses AI to artificially add particles in the moon photos. That's why the moon photos turn up to be great although not everything is real.

I own a Samsung galaxy a53 and I'm very happy with it. It has a pretty good camera and it has good bsttery life and is fast. My brother has an iPhone and while it has a slightly better UI in some apps, it's battery life started decreasing after about a year of having it.

#66

iphone 14 users are already complaining about battery degradation. Many users reported that their battery is at 87% health just after 8 months usage.

my brother has an iphone 12 i think? (i cant remember) and he took really good care of it; he made sure not to leave it on charge at 100% for long, never charged it overnight and other things, and his battery health took about a year and a half to start noticeably decreasing. However, he also always keeps bluetooth on for some weird reason so his phone runs out of charge quickly. i cant tell if his battery health is actually decreasing.

iPhone 12 mini. I had iPhone 12 and switched to the mini and life changing I’m telling you. Way better and love how perfect the size is. Regular iPhones are too big imo. If they release iPhone 15 mini maybe I switch to that but for now I’m not planning to change.

Yeah, but tbh I never had problem with it since I carry mobile charger. And even then I just charge it for a bit and it’s usable again. I don’t really use my phone much when I’m outside, just for music mostly

Yep. Light usage will suffice. The problem only comes when someone is a heavy user. Other versions do have good battery life.

Easily Android unless you live in NA where majority are Apple users. If you start to use apple you might want to change all your other devices to apple which is expensive and a hassle. Tried Apple for a few years and I really hate the no back button and it's difficulty in connecting to non-Apple devices, I really hate that annoying circle thing on the screen which is very distracting. Android (depends on the brand) is cheap and powerful while also having really good camera which could compete our outdo Apple. When it comes to gaming (I won't debate whether or not mobile gaming is gaming), Android is much better. What I can say though is Apple devices supports longer for its devices compared to Android which generally only supports updates for a few years depending on the device.
