what did people expect? first ever official match they are going to lose atleast a map
When you see the names on this roster together do you think of "superteam"? I think it's a great lineup, but I don't get the "superteam" narrative.
Personally, I don't think they are a super team based on individuals alone either, just the kind of team that is supposed to excel on fundamentals and teamwork. Issue being that currently their teamwork and fundamentals are not up to expectations either, judging by the fact that the game against Finest is this close.
Don't get me wrong, I do think that Finest are tier2+/tier1-, but G2 is being hailed as the team that is supposed to qualify for Berlin being placed in tier1++
G2 is experimenting with Yoru at the moment so they might seem a bit weaker than they should.
Sure, they did play Yoru on the 1st map, but the 2nd map was close-ish too and there was no Yoru involved. At one point Finest were leading 4-6 on Ascent.
I guess but G2 show a lot of promise regardless of these "early struggles." The players and talent that they have should be a dominant one.
Yeah I get that. I'm just saying that today they are not there yet in terms of the level they are expected to meet, but there is still a whole month left for them to iron out any remaining issues.

This may be a weird take and I'm all for G2 but it wouldn't surprise me if G2 drops a game this early on.
This is a team that'll get better with time but expectations are so high some people will go apeshit if they don't win absolutely everything and that's just dumb...

Also g2 seems to have great synergy and they're surrounded by a great & funny com (many memes and stuff, except for plastic hooligan bandwagoners) that surely helps them so no need to overreact if you're a G2 fan...

I spected g2 to win the match by an ez 2-0, but finest as allways showing that they know how to play against big teams, congrats to finest
relax guys its the same thing when bbg smashed sen and sen went on to win masters, so g2 have to win berlin now COPIUUUM.
but seriously tho its better to lose now than losing when challengers starts since it will be a wake up call for g2 to not take things lightly since they got all these star players.

Either G2 pull a "Team Liquid stage 2 performance" to prove everybody wrong for their stage 3 or its going to be an LCQ early grind at the middle of stage 3.
