Sacy Two-faced (?)

I followed without showing any interest in this drama between Less and Sacy, due to the recent video that was released on the Loud channel. For me, excessive pressure and behavior that can be interpreted as toxic in competitive environments is normal. But this went a little beyond the line of 'okay, I don't care'. The way he dealt with it caught my attention a lot: https://twitter.com/danxispe/status/1651051079155458049

He reads the chat and says: "Are they saying that I was toxic?"

Shortly after, he thinks of a response and says: "It's true. I wasn't a saint. But we won, right?"

One more brief pause to drink water and then he says, "Who's next?" - referring to the next teammate who will be pressured enough to win a championship.

And to conclude, he says: "I would do it all over again, just to make it clear."

I have nothing against Sacy, but I didn't know this 'villain' side of him and I found it at least curious.

The fact that this is a(nother) drama is wild to me
We know from multiple coaches explicitly that they were strict with their players and no one gave and will continue to give a crap. Do you see people going after coaches like Sliggy, mCe, Onur?

To quote jakee from yesterdays interview
"Also his sternness as a coach, when you make a mistake he just yells at you, straight up, and you know when you made that mistake and you know when you're about to get yelled at and you know you wanna fix it next time, and that super super important in a coach"

Sliggy went into it afterwards: "Stern? Yea you got to be. Like every time I would shout at the players, our next [...] day, would always be incredible [...]" continuing " [...] That's the problem, if you shout and everyone listens and they improve then its like, well you got to carry on doing that"
He finished by saying "You have to have someone in the team who has to be the bad person, especially when you're working with a lot of young people that haven't had other jobs, I guess."

So it isn't any of these people being toxic, or trying to create an unhealthy environment, its them trying to enable players to properly develop. And looking at it like that Sacys response is more than reasonable. If he believes its what is required to help the (previous) team win, I see no reason to backtrack.

Every winning team had a toxic environment, highly competitive environments are toxic, players have to learn to deal with that if they wanna win, Aspas and Less in a span of a less than a year went from two randoms of ranked to two of the best players in the world, winning the world title, you can question Sacy's methods but you can't question his results.

You know it was really fucking hard to find a clip of Jakee saying that; i had to go back to the original C9 vs Furia vod. The only clip floating around has that part cut out.

It seems more like a misinterpretation. It's like in last of us part 2 game where Joel says he would do it all over again if it meant saving ellie. Sacy was in fact being more straightforward and anything but 2 faced here

CS navi/astralis literally had fights between players while they were winning majors. This is indeed necessary for a team to be at their peak.

Also this is a good thread, i just translated but its a good discussion. - https://twitter.com/arvizzoni/status/1651229812449476611

And it also creates an environment of "natural selection" where only the strong survive. This is very necessary for teams that aim for great achievements... What caught my attention was just how Sacy dealt with it, it's a side of him that no one knew. I would never have imagined that he was the one responsible for creating this atmosphere within the team.

Winning has all the right recipes to look as if it is a toxic environment, it seems as if it is toxic but it may just be high pressure and high demand. Toxic is subjective to the people involved, some parties will not think it is toxic and some would. Question is where do you draw the line of toxic and being in a super competitive environment?

Maybe the top players pushing their team to win is also toxic then... there are always aspects to pushing a player when winning
