Prime Davidp was a top 5 IGL in EU but his prime lasted maybe 3 months. If we're talking about his peak 6 month performance he was not actually that good

posted about a year ago

Bro said TSM as if they have more than two good players lmfao

posted about a year ago

obviously he's a better fragger than Dephh but at his role specifically he's easily the weakest link. Dephh igled his team to top 2 in NA, sacy has been the most consistent player the past year, pancada was the MVP of champs, and Zekken was a top 2 entry in NA last year. Tenz hasn't been that level of good since midway through 2022. This is a pretty cold take.

posted about a year ago

This is the first time TenZ won't be the best player on his team. I'd even argue he's now the worst player on this team(which shows how good this team can be). Hopefully it works out but it'll be a big culture shift when he isn't expected to be the star of the team, which could bode very well for him honestly.Only expected to play Jett for duelists (no chamber or raze which he's struggled on) and can play a bit more passive on kayo or even skye on raze maps.

posted about a year ago

people won't like this but rb needs to be the one getting replaced and by this time next year the roster will likely be stax buzz mak0 foxy and a new initiator player(likely buying out Xeta or getting Lakia. TS is also really underrated but he'd be a sidegrade IMO.)

posted about a year ago

Yay is better than Cryo for sure, Cryo is great and its not wrong to label him as having a crazy high ceiling, but how much higher is his ceiling compared to what Yay has already done? I'd argue what we want Cryo to be is what Yay is.

At an IGLing standpoint I see Vanity as having a higher ceiling as both a fragger(look at this years LCQ and past tournaments) and as an actual IGL(lead two different teams to international success)

Leaf IMO has an equal or higher ceiling than Asuna. People forget he's still younger than Asuna and has more potential to flex. Asuna Raze>Leaf Raze but I trust leaf more on Jett if he needs to play it, plus he seems likely to be a star on sentinel agents. Asuna is still crazy and IMO they're 3a and 3b when it comes to potential between these teams.

Bang I think has the highest ceiling of the rest of the 4, but I'd say Xeppaa and Zellsis are 2-3. I think Derrek is great and currently on Sova which is meta he's above Xeppaa, but I think Xeppaa for sure has the ability to get ahead of him, and I personally think Derrek has shown to be fantastic but IDK how much better he's getting.

And lastly I think mCe deserves to be praised more than Mikes and took the Guard to higher success than any new team and coach ever had. He did that with an objectively weaker roster, which is why I have such high hopes for a C9 team that has pretty obvious team chemistry(only rivaled by 100T likely)

posted about a year ago

I agree, they both have very well built teams, but the ceiling of C9 seems much higher. I think Stellar out IGLed Vanity last year but in general I think Vanity is more likely to bring a team farther and has shown that he can do that. I rate Mce>Mikes as coaches and I think when C9 is on they have a better fragging squad overall than 100T. The problem is that they have less experience recently and Xeppaa will need to be able to perform on Sova. I personally see 100T as similar to C9 but a slight tier below if I'm putting money on who will be the champion by the end of the year.

posted about a year ago

I do my own personal rating systems for DOMESTIC(not counting international) play in NA and I had Yay as the best, Leaf top 5, and Zellsis and Xeppaa top 15. I don't think the argument with c9 flopping is their talent. For me they have far and away the most talented team. But of the 4 actual competitive teams in NA they have the least time played internationally in 2022 and Vanity has been the worst of the 4 IGLs since 2022. That's not to say they can't make up for that but saying that their players aren't the most elite is short selling them. The only team that really comes close for me is sentinels but I see such a huge gap between yay and tenz that it makes up for SEN having sacy and pancada.

posted about a year ago

As long as Yay is able/willing to pick up something like Sage and Breach on the more inside based maps they can succeed. IMO they have 4 of the 15 best players in NA and Vanity is the best fragging IGL up there with Boostio and Stellar.

posted about a year ago

By the start of 2024 he's on one of Sen or NRG for sure(I only say SEN because if they flop IMO some BR team picks up Sacy and Pancada and SEN rebuilds around Zekken)

possibly unpopular ratings but from a pure musical enjoyment its

GKMC
TPAB
MMATBS
DAMN

Damn has multiple more hits but MMATBS is a much more complete album with more "underrated songs" TPAB is good but GKMC is a 0 skip album with 3 of his best songs and his best song on it. Very few albums EVER can compete with having Money Trees, Maad City, and SAMIDOT

Marved and Zombs are the most obvious, both went to LAN's and most recently played for UB in the qualifiers
(Nitr0 and Hiko are the only 2 other players not in at least ascension that played at an international LAN)

Tigg played for the nation and has been a staple since S3 2021

Effys is now the V1 HC but it's surprising him and Tigg didn't make an ascension team

Rawkus didn't make it after playing with Zacharee on City Bois(old Akr) but both are OG players

PureR and SQ just barely didn't qualify, he is the only one who didn't get dropped

Subroza and Shanks are both seemingly content creators for their orgs but are T1 vets who probably still have some left(subroza especially)

Shawn played with NSIC and failed to qualify despite being GenG's best player for pretty much their entirety

Curry and NFLO did not qualify

players like BabyJ and Frosty did not play but seem to still be willing to compete, BabyJ played at a high level for 2 stages with Faze in '21 and played for a tiny bit of time for 100T. Frosty IGLed Knights to top 8 in NA for the start of 2022 but failed to get them back and has been LFT since.

Wardell also played with the nation but hasn't really played at a top tier level since First Strike

Some other names that are no longer competing are:
Dre(now works at Riot but competed at a high level for two different teams and most recently played with NYFU)
Mummay and Kaboose(both seemingly retired but were great for the pre-Yay NV team)
Koosta(apparently still playing but hasn't been on a team since GenG)
Android(trying out collegiate but has been a staple in the scene for a while)
Jcstani(apparently taking a break but still very talented)
Sinatraa(tho he hasn't played in a big stage since First Strike I obviously had to mention him. Possibly the second best player on the list but apart from competing with UB for a bit he's not taking competitive seriously)

A lot of really high profile names here, the one that surprises me most is Tigg, he is for sure a top 17 controller in NA especially with Zombs and Marved not really taking competitive seriously. I was also surprised that Effys didn't get picked up by FaZe nor did he try to find a team to compete with.
The best team you could probably make of people that still compete(not counting the UB guys) is

PureR/Wardell
Shawn
Tigg
Zacharee
Rawkus/Curry

but i doubt a lot of these guys continue playing

Him Fireball and Cheatcode are top tier unsigned players, if they're controller wasn't a coach they would be one of the better unsigned teams in NA after the very obvious ones like Nation and DR

posted about a year ago

I would rather have seen SEN get them just so Trent Marved Sacy and Pancada were all in Franchising. LOUD would still be a super team and SEN would have 2 equally amazing players. I do wonder what that snowball effect would've looked like, maybe Guard Brawk and Caunazin to MIBR and Tuyz doesn't even make franchising?

posted about a year ago

Trent Nismo and Valyn imo are above the rest, after that I would say Jugi and Vo0kashu but I know very little about the SA and APAC scene in T2. I also know Lauress is pretty insane so add him in

posted about a year ago

This is not a curry fan post I know he massively underperformed on C9 but I just thought it was cool to see how many agents he's played so many rounds for. I was just wondering if anyone could name someone with that much diversity in their agents.

posted about a year ago

I saw Curry had 13/20 agents with over 200 rounds of playing time, can anyone top that? Obviously he's played quite a few T2 tournies and has been around for a while but that's quite an impressive number of agents to have learned enough of to play that many times at a pro level. It seems like tho he gets a lot of hate he's comfortable on pretty much every major role apart from controller and maybe awping.

posted about a year ago

RB has been a problem on that team since mid 2021 and they still have yet to find an adequate replacement. Mak0 Buzz and Stax are top tier players and zest is solid and brings secondary calling(from what we know) but RB is inconsistent and doesn't excel at any agent. I know they're grooming Foxy9 into the next star but they desperately need a better entry/kj player which I hope foxy can be, but they haven't had a star raze player ever and haven't had a really good kj(apart from buzz for one tourney) since early days K1ng.

This meta will be super friendly to a team like The Guard which I think not enough people are talking abt. NeT gets to play his best agents and not be forced on chamber or breach. Tex gets to play a multitude of agents and he's been good on anything from Kay/O to Chamber in the past. Jonah can still flex a lot and play sage, skye, and kayo while not being forced onto duelist roles

posted about a year ago

They're definitely similar levels right now but NFLIO core has been together for a while and probably has a lower ceiling. Obviously they got the best of them in that game but I think Clear is the highest ceiling fragger here and XXIF Genghsta and Steel are alltime the best of any of these guys.

posted about a year ago

They're one of the better constructed teams he could've made. Steel gets plenty of shit but what other F/A IGL has made a LAN or had the peak steel has had? He's for sure worse than before but he's a good building block. Genghsta and Xxif have been solid for over a year now and are reliable pickups. I'm not crazy abt Exalt but Clear is pretty good. Maybe a better kayo/breach/viper player would've been nice but these guys are a pretty solid squad

posted about a year ago

I have a pretty good feeling that if cypher is being played Dapr will be on it lol. It's just that on maps like Haven or fracture when chamber might still be favored it would be advantageous to have Dapr on initiators. It's not like he has to practice cypher or viper in ranked, they're by far his best agents. Same thing with Wippie and viper, it's likely that unless they're on bind where its double controller he'll be playing viper as much as possible with dapr playing initiators or even sage.

tbf Bonecold has shown that his peak as an IGL is for sure higher and lets not act like Vitality's roster, IGL aside, is anywhere close to what 100T's is.

On awping specifically how exactly is Ardiis better? Eyetest and statistics both favor Cryo. Ardiis is more flexible and his team had more success but ardiis got suygetsu and shao while cryo got ayrin and bcj

posted about a year ago

The only three I can really think of that had international success with multiple teams are
Koldamenta, lead G2 and Guild to their best ever performances in different years, as well as having been good with Acend before his original transfer
Saadhak, did pretty good in the first international LAN with Vikings then went on to win champs with Loud
Vanity, made top 8 with C9 at champs after being the only other NA team to qualify in Stage 2.

Those are really the main ones, bnj qualed for 2 separate LANs but I believe one of them wasn't as an IGL, Paura was great with the OG Heretics and SMB but apart from these guys it really doesn't happen very often.

It actually kinda hurts their overall performance that they only performed really well in 1 grand final each(maybe you could argue Yay had 2 cuz he carried them against GMB but still) and Crashies apart from s1 2023 was pretty bad in the other 2, and Victor was pretty meh in all 3 lol

posted about a year ago

I personally remember Starxo being the most consistent and best player in the Ace v GMB matchup in champs '21 but cned is def the most pop off guy on that team.

posted about a year ago

I really wanted to put him on and I think you can make an argument for him in multiple directions which is why I put him as an HM. He played really well but only played in one final and lets be honest the teams they played against were not even close to what guys like GMB or Loud guys had to play. I had to put him somewhere though which is why he is in my HM

Fnatic had the biggest roster improvement of all teams, C9 has the highest ceiling but it's hard to pick against Navi or DRX when they returned rosters that were top 4 at the end of the year(only difference being cned).

posted about a year ago

Pancada went from unknown outside of Brazil to the MVP of the biggest tournament all year, it has to be him. Plenty of other guys have been great but Cryo and Alfajer are IMO the only two who could compete with Pancada.

posted about a year ago

Nats for sure but peak Dapr and Suygetsu were also very good at the role, as well as currently Less and Alfajer as up and comers. It's kind of a dead role in NA but EU still has guys like I mentioned and players like Nivera and Cender. NA, especially in franchising, quite struggles with the role since most IGLs play it but Leaf looks like he could be very good at it, Stellar was really good on LAN this year and Wippie and NeT will be very good on it in ascension.
