The playoff format is trash

The double elimination format they use for playoffs is absolute garbage. Upper bracket matches have zero tension, and even when someone goes on a lower bracket run, it's hard to get hype about it.
Champions 2021 was single elim, and GMB vs KRU was one of the most intense matches ever. Every time I watch WCS, I'm reminded that the world champion should be a team that never lost in playoffs. That's what a true champion looks like.
At the very least, Champions playoffs should be single elimination, all BO5, every single match. Make every game a must-win. No safety nets, no second chances.

Yeah.

No, because say the best team in the world currently at the tournament has a bad day, in double elim atleast they get a chance to fight back and potentially make a lower bracket run and win it, but in single elim they just loose and then people complain later that they just had a bad day thats it otherwise they would've won the entire tourney. In double elim you are more certain that you did not eliminate the best team from the tourney just because they had 1 bad day, because they have to loose 2 matches atleast to get knocked out (unless of couse they just loose the grand finals which if they do even with double map ban then they arent the best team and we could see that thanks to the lower bracket)

Not wrong... People yap about single elim leading to flukes but the only champs winner that needed the lower bracket was EG, who haven't compared to PRX in the long run

I do think we need more Bo5s. What's the point of having a seven-map pool just for teams who suck at half of them to make it all the way to top 3 before being exposed

Thats just worlds format which has proven to be bad

awful way to choose a worthy winner, its okay as long as youre down for fluke runs and top 4s missing some of the 4 actual best teams

that's why EWC is more prestigious than champs

Double elim is the only reason ur team BBL even got to win a game in playoffs... They would've been home after their 1st game if it was single elim😂

Make every game a must-win. No safety nets, no second chances.

More people need to accept this just like in traditional sports.
