i saw an interesting take somewhere recently (cant remember where from), that basically said how the reason why emea is probably the most competitive in regionals and all seem insane, and yet dont have the same impact in internationals for the most part is because most regions have multiple teams with many strong players. whereas, almost all of emeas "best players" are spread out in loads of different teams.

most teams have maybe one or two top players in emea. dont get me wrong, making the emea teams this way makes regional matchups fun to watch, because you know the star player/s are gonna probably have hero rounds, but as we saw for m8 with relying on marteen for example (minny is actually on a similar level to marteen but wasnt able to show up sadly), this isnt viable at the international stage, where most other teams have their best attending.

it sounds ass, but i wonder if rather than spacing them out, if emea would become more competitive again if they decided to just have a few superteams with all the top players (like what theyre trying with vitality), and forget all other teams lol
