we need 3 or 4 agents per year and a meta that doesn’t favor specific roles too much so we can have even more different playstyles, and maybe even agent bans (i don’t know if that would work at the professional level)

We already get like 3 agents a year so there's already that. Also instead of eventually bringing agent bans in, they should instead make it a fearless draft where teams can't pick the same agent twice in one match.

i think riot should prioritize keeping a fixed release pace, new characters keep the game feeling fresh, with the meta always dynamic, it attracts a lot of audience and is positive in many ways
i still think we have few agents for how long valorant has been on the market, riot is afraid to take risks

maybe you cooked insanely here, this is an interesting idea and it would bring a lot of dynamism to the game
thats a great idea we would need another year or two worth of agents in the game but this would suit the game significantly better than agent bans since its up to the team not the opponent. i really think being able to ban neon against a team like nongshim would just be lame
so you think always having the same agents and endlessly changing them to shift the meta is good for the game? bro...
CS has no agents yet they maintained popularity by changing 1 box in a map every now and then

you can’t compare cs and valorant, guys, even though they’re the same genre, they’re very different games.
yeah. why wouldn’t it be? it’s just more possibilities for comps and gameplay. it would still be a 5v5 game on the server, lol
This game can barely handle this many agents and you want them to add more. They can't release a new agent without nerfing it to the ground in the next patch. Adding maps is a better solution than adding more agents.

huh? for what reason? a small nerf to waylay and yoru and a small buff to sentinels and the game would have the best meta in valorant’s history
riot just needed experience with abilities in a game like valorant and they’re gaining it over time
but i agree the game should have more maps
There's already agent power creep going on, and it's just going to get worse as the game gets older
Yes. When the meta keeps being longer people start figuring out things on their own and making it more diverse naturally. Loud won 22 barely using chamber because the game itself didnt have changes enough and let them figure it out. Right now teams are starting to experiment more with Neon and Phoenix instead of Waylay and Yoru because double duelist is being meta for a while and they have more time to experiment and think about it. A ever changing game never reaches its full tactical potential because you never let the tactics breath and grow by themselves
csgo went 8 years without a core gameplay change and only became more and more popular in that timespan
that comparison makes no sense, cs is a game that doesn’t have agent mechanics as a core part of its gameplay
marvel rivals, apex legends, overwatch, valorant... if all of these games where the core gameplay revolves around characters with abilities simply stop releasing characters, the games would die, and that’s what almost happened to overwatch and is gradually happening with apex, you can’t compare it to cs, it’s completely different
yeah, and even so it’s a completely different game from cs, there’s no comparison here
i’m not saying valorant is similar to overwatch or apex, i didn’t say that, i said that games whose core gameplay is based on abilities, if they don’t release new characters, they die over time, and denying that is denying a fact
It is not a completely different game from CS
And it is already dying, having new agents or not aint gonna change that. They need to focus and balance other stuff before adding new ones
I wonder how Valorant would look like if there was a "picks and bans" system for agent selection
How the meta would be
if you couldnt play an agent that was already picked by the other team too
that system is more made for true hero games like mobas where there are hero abilities that interact with/counter other abilities in the game instead of just being a utility piece that comes secondary to the guns
we legit had the perfect patch toronto(if i am not mistaken)-champs 2026 double duel viable flash inti viable and astra was lowk getting play all they needed was to nerf viper again and its perfect
omen and yoru being meta will never be a problem since they are extremely fun to watch and a real fix is agent bans like one for each team or 2 if that is too little adds 1000% agent variety to any meta without doing allat
+riot gets more leniency to fix ranked cause if pro players think a agent is too broken they can just ban it and if they don't its there fault
