SEN New Roster

With N4rrate seeming to be confirmed out, what does the roster look like going forward?

The most common theory I've seen has been:

Cortezia - Sentinel
JohnQT - Scan initiator (IGL)
Reduxx - Flex
JonahP - Flash initiator/viper
Boni - Duelist

And while I think these are just about the best players that are available at the moment, it seems like the role/style issues are probably going to carry over. There's no real controller player on this team; it feels like reduxx is being wasted on the role, John has looked so much better when he plays initiator or even sentinel if you go back to 2024, and jonahp only really plays viper. In this roster, it seems like Reduxx will be back on the controller role, besides some viper maps, and then it feels like the entire team is going to continue to be way too passive and awkward.

Are there any other players that make sense cause I don't have a ton of confidence in this

I'm begging Ewok to put John on perma viper. He is so much better in the Sentinel role imo.

Yeah I like him on senti as well, but with cortez on the team its awkward in most situations I feel

I'm down for him on controller, they've seemed set on having him on senti/viper though. If he can do it, then that fixes a lot of the role issues

Agreed. It takes time for someone to become a caliber controller player in tier 1 and im not too sure SEN has that time

Kind of my whole point is that this roster that a lot of people are predicting has weird role issues. Imo moving john to senti and cortez to controller and letting reduxx be the flex/second duelist is the only way for this roster to work

Nah making Redux flex is braindead why would you want a player to play at 50% of his potential on random roles hes not good at

If they were to make Redux main duelist and pick up Smoke from T2 which perma yorus outlaw/awp abuses they would do good imo

If you're keeping cortezia, johnqt, and Reduxx, you probably need a recon initiator, I'm not sold on john being the recon role. You also need someone else to play Duelist (since it's a double duelist meta) and also play smokes or senti or flex, OR have reduxx be the flex on single duelist maps.

Given you at least need a recon and a Duelist, I think they won't pick up JonahP. chloric would be really good but IDK if NRG would give him up to a rival (I also don't know if it works like that so correct me if I'm wrong). They could also go for Derrek, or someone like ducq/welyy.

Boni's been pretty good this split but he's not that consistent. There are a lot of Tier2 Duelists/Flex to choose from. But he isn't the worst option.

My personal favorite roster would be:
Reduxx Duelist
Chloric Recon/IGL
johnqt Senti/Smokes flex (maybe flash initiator or Tejo too)
satellite/zaj Yoru/smokes/initiator flex
cortezia Smokes/Senti

Would be very flexible and open up a lot of comp options.

Yeah, I mean SEN gave NRG Skuba so maybe they'll return the favor lol.

It seems pretty set that Johnqt is gonna be the IGL but I don't hate the rest of the roster

Oh I didn't know about john being confirmed IGL. I don't hate it but he was fragging insanely well off IGL, hopefully he can keep it up.

Taking into account everything, I've landed on what feels like the best possible role balance if +JonahP +Boni ends up being the roster (this also works for +JonahP +any duelist).

JohnQT (IGL) - Sentinel/Viper (Can flex to recon initiator depending on map/team comp)
Cortezia - Controller (Can flex to sentinel/viper depending on map/team comp)
Reduxx - Duelist (Can flex to controller in single-duelist maps)
Jonah P - Initiator (Can flex to viper if needed)
Boni - Perma duelist

This isn't perfect, but it seems like the best scenario if this ends up being the roster

And then for Haven:

And if they ever run double initiator (e.x. old Ascent comp):

cortezia Killjoy

The roles themselves seem fine, I'm just not 100% sold on Jonah being the recon player...

Oddly enough, the “joke” suggestions of Sinatraa could work.

Sentinels are supposed to be the villains anyway.

Redux / duelist
Sinatraa / duelist / Recon
Jonah p / recon /flex
Cortezia / smokes
John / senti / 2nd smokes

The real question = is there any free agents that actually give sen the opportunity to win a trophy this year? I think the answer is no.
