Well he mainly plays sentinel now so not anymore, but yeah id call him a flex player
PRX has pretty flexible players. 4 of them are duelists when you really look at it.
PLaying every agent in the game. Wish doesnt happen. Flex is again a lie.
Role are
Gives argument then.
We have 50% of composition without a sentinel, and people still saying sentinel and flex are a role. People say "Viper is a Sentinel she can stall", but any controller can stall with util that can't even get destroyed compared to sentinels. Few season ago we had some player that play Chamber+Jett.
About flex, no playing 2 agent labeled at different role doesnt create a new role

can you take your time to appreciate how insane mwzera is? without a doubt the most talented player to ever touch the game
I'll try to explain briefly why I think he is the best player in the world
Despite his insane aim and movement
The best way to know if a player is a good duelist is RAZE. There is a BIG difference between a good duelist and a jett abuser
If he is a good duelist, he needs to be good with raze.
heat? not good with raze
aspas? not good with raze
xand? not good with raze
tenz? not good with raze
cned? not good with raze
scream? not good with raze
d3ffo? not good with raze
derke? not good with raze
Thats why I think he is undoubtely the best player in the world. If RIOT by any means decides to nerf jett and shift the meta we prolly not gonna even hear names like cned and tenz again :>
He is not killing 40+ per map because when he joined VK he was forced to play a different role because heat is already a main jett... and lets be honest, every single duelist nowadays gets 20+ kills per map because team and setups are basically built around you (even steel managed to get 20 kills with it https://www.vlr.gg/29398/sentinels-vs-100-thieves-champions-tour-north-america-stage-3-challengers-playoffs-gf/?game=46692&tab=overview)
Here are some performances from Felipe "Less" Basso that highlights why Less is the greatest sentinel of all time:
Less absolutely diffed and eliminated the big 3 of EMEA sentinels at the time (Alfajer, nAts and suygetsu)
His masterclass against PRX on Split is still one of the best individual performances in Valorant Champions history
https://www.vlr.gg/248274/loud-vs-paper-rex-valorant-champions-2023-playoffs-ubsf/?game=137631&tab=overview
He got 416 kills as a sentinel player

Against TL nAts

Against NAVI suygetsu (A hero performance to save LOUD, one of the best maps ever played on Bind 3rd map)
https://www.vlr.gg/247104/natus-vincere-vs-loud-valorant-champions-2023-group-stage-decider-d
Less won the Champions at only 17 years old against prime Optic in his rookie year, he had rating of 1.16 and had insane impactful rounds over the entire tournament. That includes the Ace on Haven on the last map of the Champions Grand Final, a 2v4 on Ascent to save LOUD first map of the Grand Final, another 4K on Ascent and his iconic duo with Aspas on Breeze on crucial rounds.

Less reached the Kickoff Americas Grand Finals as the #2 highest rated player in Americas, only behind aspas and the #1 highest rated player in Americas that qualified to Masters Madrid. He was at the time in most people's lists, the #1 best player in the world:
https://www.vlr.gg/event/stats/1923/champions-tour-2024-americas-kickoff?exclude=&min_rounds=100&agent=all
His performances include a hard carry +28 against a top team Leviatán with aspas:
https://www.vlr.gg/295612/loud-vs-leviat-n-champions-tour-2024-americas-kickoff-winners-b
His performances at Masters Madrid were also insane, as he was a minimum top 3 player of the event:
https://www.vlr.gg/event/stats/1921/champions-tour-2024-masters-madrid
Against GENG, +19 and highest rated player of the series (1.35):

When the best players in the world were all duelists like zekken and t3xture, Less was carrying LOUD to Top 4 in the world as a sentinel player after aspas left.
Less reached a Masters Grand Final in his first international tournament ever at only 16 years old
His performances include one of the best individual performances in Valorant's history, the Icebox map on the upper final against Optic, third map of the BO3, 33/13, 1.96 rating, +20:
https://www.vlr.gg/85529/loud-vs-optic-gaming-valorant-champions-tour-stage-1-masters-reykjav-k-ubf/?game=77502&tab=overview
Against prime Fnatic 2023, 98 kills, +20, highest rated player of the series (1.26), this series would've been a 3-0 for FNC if it wasnt for Less. He had serious health problems too at the time btw, having to go the hospital after the games and taking serums between maps to not pass out:
https://www.vlr.gg/167393/loud-vs-fnatic-champions-tour-2023-lock-in-s-o-paulo-gf
Another insane performances:
Kickoff 2025 - Masters Bangkok
Less became the first player ever to win in 2 different regions: Americas 2023 and EMEA 2025
His performances include a Kickoff Grand Finals MVP against Team Liquid and nAts:
https://www.vlr.gg/429390/team-vitality-vs-team-liquid-champions-tour-2025-emea-kickoff-gf
+14 against future winners T1:
https://www.vlr.gg/448599/team-vitality-vs-t1-champions-tour-2025-masters-bangkok-r1
He ended the first third of the year as the best sentinel in EMEA in his first time playing in other region
Americas 2023:
Less was the #2 highest rated player in the first ever VCT Americas, only behind his teammate aspas:
https://www.vlr.gg/event/stats/1189/champions-tour-2023-americas-league
Less was the #2 player with the most kills in all of 2023 as a sentinel player, only behind aspas
yo listen up ⁉️
you ever see someone not just play valorant but straight rewrite the GODDAMN HISTORY BOOKS? that’s marteen. dude went absolute apeshit in the VCT EMEA Kickoff — back-to-back BO5s, no rest, no mercy — and ended up with 126 kills on the board, smashing records that people thought were untouchable. 🧊🔥
not 88. not 106. not even 111.
126 kills.
the kind of number that makes analysts mute their mics and players rethink career choices. the Yoru just walked into the enemy spawn, waved goodbye to their plans, and walked out with a goddamn statline. 🧠💀
Gentle Mates needed a miracle to punch their ticket to Masters Santiago, and marteen didn’t just deliver — he literally rewrote the rules mid-match. records shattered. egos broken. Fnatic left wondering if they’d accidently queued ranked solo-duo. ⚰️
people on reddit are like: “he’s not even possible human” and “marteen must be using cheats because that aim isn’t real.” little do they know… this man’s just unlocked the next tier of reality. 👁️🗨️💯
if valorant had a pantheon?
marteen = the winter deity who looks at a record and says: not tall enough. ❄️🏆
It doesnt happen because it doesnt need to happen. Not every agent on the game is used on pro play
It's an exaggeration, usually player stick to 4 or 5 pick, sometimes more if the gameplay is close
In VIT, I would say chron is their senti meanwhile sayo will be their flex but generally chronicle has been regarded as a flex since he has historically been the player to fill multiple roles for FNC depending on whatever their take on the meta was and teammates' agent pools.
D4v41 isn't considered a flex since he is generally playing sentinel for PRX (also yes we consider viper a senti).
(Side tangent: Playing lots of agents doesn't necessarily mean someone to be a good flex, in fact it says more about the team than the player themselves. I think being a good flex isn't something you can just look at how many agents has X person played but rather how good they are across multiple roles)
In lock in final he played 5 agents...all 4 roles (Sage, viper, raze, kayo, breach)
damn i didnt realise he played a full comp
f0rsakeN did the same and topfragged but im not gonna push it otherwise people will flair me
f0rsaken has had a rating of around 1~ in the majority of internationals he's attended, easy to play a lot of characters and be ass on all of them 😂
a long long time ago, a flex usually played raze in one map then flash init on the next cause jett + raze was starting to get played in some maps like split and jett players realized they cant actually play anything else (other than chamber). Double init with flash was also more popular.
today, a "flex" might play just viper, like munchkin for geng last year cause the team ran the viper+senti comp on almost every map
a flex is prob just someone who fills that last slot on a team comp that no one else can play, but today more and more teams have players that play different roles between maps
Well flex is a role in itself, you could have been a flex and swapped to a different role. Chronicle was a flex on Fnatic but on Vitality he is most clearly a sentinel player
Flex is often the role for the person who isnt the primary role for the team.
For example in EDG
Smoggy is primarily controller
Chichoo is primarily senti
Zmjjkk is primarily duelist
Nobody is primarily recon inti
and CB just plays the role that is needed otherwise
different meta's have flexes play different things. Viper and Flash intiator is usually associated with flex as they are usually that 5th player role, this meta is stranger because most senti players moved to viper since senti is kinda shit rn and flex's dont play flash inti that much either since they are also kinda shit. Yoru is kinda the flex pick rn, but also depends on the team.
More agents doesnt necessarily mean more flex. It just depends what the team needs.
both of them have kinda standardised to playing sentinel (including viper) now
i think you could look at both as long-term flexes if that makes sense? they dont play more than two roles at a time but they have changed roles when needed many times throughout careers
PatMen is really a good definition of a player to look at when you wanna know what is playing flex means
an item in game that you hold in your hand by putting it on your spray wheel and selecting as if it was a spray
forsaken always been prx flex player davai roles always been filling in roles, currently he only playing senti but he still play smoke on some comp astra/brim this kickoff...
when mindfreak still on the team he probably more flexible playing senti/smoke/ini also jinggg now can play omen to fill in smokes on some comp
I mean i simply differentiate it based on style
If you can play an aggro style only, thats that, but if you can oscillate styles between aggro or passive, lurking or with the team, that is what id call a flex.
Multirole is the one people use but i disagree, it is not flexing
