How bad of an IGL rating is too bad

I'm obviously rooting for him to turn it around, but Zellsis's recent rating has me wondering. How bad of a rating is too bad?

I'll give 3 examples

Zellsis - Americas Kickoff 2026: 0.79 rating
FNS - VCT 2025 Americas Stage 1 (retired after): 0.77 rating
Boostio - VCT 2025 Americas Stage 1 (benched): 0.75 rating

Do you think it's possible for C9 to qualify for LAN's and maintain success with this performance in the server? Are the intangibles good enough to make up for it?

I'm curious to see everyone's thoughs.

the difference between boaster and zellsis is that zellsis wasn't fragging even when he wasn't on IGL

not saying that a team needs a fragging igl, just curious what the lower bound is for IGL performance until it's too bad

like if an IGL gets 0 kills a game, surely you don't think that's sustainable

there has to be a point where it's no longer made up for, I'm curious where you think that is. Currently I'd put it at 0.78 since C9 is clearly bound for santiago #unbiasedtake

its not 2023 anymore man you can't get away with having deadweights at IGL anymore because of their game sense, you can find players who have elite game sense who still have league average fragging ability

C9 has done surprisingly well against APAC in the few games they've had over the years

for example somehow the Wippie edition of the roster beat DRX twice in the offseason

apac then was different, and now is different, just look at last off season, where two of the most average and mediocre T2 APAC teams beat sen and NRG

Are you talking about the tournament that NRG went on to win with FNS then get deconstructed at regionals? I don’t think that’s the argument for apac you think it is

correct, even though they won the tournament, those two T1 amer teams did loose to 2 of the most mediocre T2 apac team in the first series

Boaster is .83 in kickoff rn, I'd say .8 and consistent incredible calling is the lower bound

Edit: if either the fragging or calling is worse than boaster, it's time to go

It depends on the players on the team. Boaster can go -20 and still get to multiple international grandfinals cause he had chronicle, alfajer and kajaak. Who does c9 have to compensate for zellsis? xeppa? penny? oxy? I mean oxy can pop off but he is kinda inconsistent and he is only one guy. Thats why demon1 is good for the team, he brings the firepower thats needed.

depends on how well they can call

if it’s like boaster or ange1 then just let them be shit cause their calling has been proven to be really good, if you don’t have a top 3 igl then there’s no point of not having a fragger as your igl or bare minimum someone who can frag when needed like ethan, siufatbb, rose for example

i think zellsis rn is definitely in the too bad margin, but i think if they keep him on for another stage he'll improve his fragging with more comfort as a caller
