Who is the G.O.A.T in Valorant?

Just my take as someone who’s relatively new to the pro scene: I don’t personally know much about the period before the 2025 season. I’ve been watching both MIBR and FNATIC, and that gave me some perspective on two players people often argue about: aspas and Chron.

I want to know who is truly the GOAT in Valorant. Personally, I think it’s aspas, and my argument is that aspas is simply the better player. I agree that Chron is a great player and that he has the most trophies, but winning a tournament is a team achievement. Aspas is also a World Champion, which Chron has never won.

After watching both of them, one thing became clear to me: the GOAT is supposed to be the best player, not the most decorated one. That’s why I think aspas is the best. He has insane individual stats, and in this Champions tournament he did some crazy stuff as well.

Another point is that if winning the most trophies makes someone the GOAT, wouldn’t that make Ethan the strongest contender? He’s the only player to be a World Champion twice, which is clearly better than the LOCK//IN and the two Masters trophies that Chron won with a super team.

Riens never even called aspas a baiter. If you watch that video, Riens calls aspas “overrated.” The Brazilian community is so stupid that they provoke each other just to hate a player. The first person to say the “baiter” thing was Bren, and this is one of the very few topics where he’s actually right.

Even though trash talk is a part of esports, Riens apologized to aspas because it is a virtue; he had forgotten that aspas is a dishonorable Brazilian.

I’m sorry this if mibr had better team is straight cope. Aspas is just farming in regionals and doing good in intls , also role matters he’s gonna get better stats on duelist when he baits . He’s not the best player ever when he won. Say if mibr current team flops ( which on paper clears 2025) who we blaming , Aspas will be on fraud watch

If baiting somehow gets a roster like MIBR to 5th at Champs, then maybe every duelist should start baiting, right? I guess Jaw is stupid for not baiting his whole roster on G2—that’s why they bombed out of Champs.

Also, doesn’t that put Chron on the fraud list already? Since 2024, FNC failed with their super team, so Chron is officially a fraud now by your logic. That leaves only Ethan, but again, as you said, aspas wasn’t the best player when he won Champs. The same goes for Ethan—he wasn’t the best player both times he won.

So who’s the GOAT then?

What’s the argument? I already told you how Chron and Ethan aren’t even close by your own argument. If you want to go by the argument of aspas not being the best player when he won Champs, that same thing applies to Ethan. Both times, he wasn’t the best player when he won.

At LOCK//IN, neither Derke nor Chron were the best players—not even close. Leo was there, so he obviously carried. Then let’s go to Masters Tokyo: Leo and Alfa were the best players, with Chron being miles behind them.

Another funny thing is that Derke was worse than aspas in that tournament, lol. The tournament he won, he was rated lower than aspas.

Yeah but he isn't arguing how is Derke better when him and both Chron weren't the best players in either of the trophies they won so your arguments goes against you and since all the people in the debate haven't been the best players when they won Aspas is just better than all of them and by your own Logic Aspas is better but if you truly wanna go to the trophies way than Ethan's two champs trophies weighs more than Chron's Three international trophies

Comes down to what you weigh more --> not just number of trophies but rather domination.
Domination at one role but so good that every org you've been to, you've given them their best iteration of that roster yet or perhaps not extremely heavy domination at one class but being a super solid flex who you can rely on any day to play any agent and know that it'll be good.

Honestly for me both are Great in their own accord, this game is super dynamic so playing multiple roles very well is very impressive to me but at the same time playing the same set of agents for 4 years and still dominating is also insane.

Chronicle is definitely not the goat, because if you are only using trophies as a metric Ethan has more prestigious tournaments won. I don't believe Ethan is the goat either, in fact I think valorant as an esports scene is far too young to have an undisputed goat.

I'm conclusion, the goat of valorant is none other than Charles "cNed" Neddington.

My conclusion to this is it's too Early to say anything about a GOAT in Valorant but that doesn't mean there isn't a best Player up until now and I can only think of Aspas since he has shown amazing consistency
