True! He has a lot of flex/fill/hype impact that a lot of these teams are missing! RobbieBurgerking!
Very true, if anything, this could be a discussion to think of for the near future, and maybe not this exact moment in time. With current projections, none of these roster changes seem to affect winning against their best competition (SEN & G2). But I suspect a breakthrough. A lot of these new players are hungry, and a lot of them look like they could seriously make a run if the cards are in their favor. Personally, I think individual players (take Sato & spikes for example) are players who surpass their team entirely, and in the right situation and team could be champs-ready players right now. I know it’s a reach, but I think my point with this all is that new talent is taking over very quickly.
Excited to see what two other teams qualify for champs. I’d like to say C9, but 100T will be more than ready to put up a great fight in playoffs. My sleeper pick is LEV. People tend to forget they got 3rd at champs last year, and their core is looking very motivated with their new talent aiding them. Wish all VCT Americas teams the best!
Big fan of VCT, with Americas being my primary. As we’ve seen a lot during this entire year, just about EVERY team has undergone a mid-season roster change.
To be more specific, off the top of my head, all but three teams have made permanent roster changes throughout this year. If you count babybay subbing in for leaf, that makes SEN & EG the only two teams to not have undergone a roster change before the 2025 season. (I guess you could count C9 too)
With that being said, mid-level Americas teams have seen to find their biggest strides around the time of their new guys joining.
Some notable examples of teams with new players:
Verno - MIBR
Sato - LEV
skuba - NRG
Kess - 100T
Virtyy- LOUD
Dantedeu5 - KRU
spikeziN - 2G
feel free to name any I missed
So now, I have a question up for debate. Are these new players carrying their team to new heights? Or is the refreshing feeling of having a new teammate enough to unite and bring teams to higher levels?
Furthermore, how much does attitude, effort, and commitment play a role into previous players getting dropped and new ones getting signed?
I think with VCT franchising coming close to its 3rd year in the making, we’re starting to see the effects of the feeder systems (T2, Collegiate, ETC) and its impact on the current state of the game.
While, for the most part, VALORANT is dominated by more established, middle-aged * for gamers (20-24), take SEN, FNC, G2, PRX.
But a new era is upon us. I don’t know if these new kids are just becoming cracked out of their minds. Or maybe it’s the effects of franchising. With many of these young kids, they are constantly grinding to make their way to the top, creating new levels of ambition and motivation that many pros in the current scene never had to go through or experience.
Sorry for the yap, please leave your thoughts below.
EG NaturE… im sorry I don’t even have a good reason
cortezia. At least someone on that team wants to keep MIBR alive
It’s okay, we all know 100T hate just comes from projection. If I were to be an 100T fan, I’d be a bit upset too knowing BBL out placed me.
As an avid, longtime user and consumer of the classic + half shield, I’ve come back with results. The BBL classic is objectively the best classic in the game by far. Now, while BBL’s stock is at an all-time high due to their performance at the EWC, as it currently stands, specifically the BBL ‘25 classic is the best in the game. However, as time moves on, as old becomes new, the 2024 VCT BBL classic will go down in VALORANT’s history as the greatest classic, screw it, greatest skin to ever touch the game.
I love BBL, you love BBL, we all love BBL(s)
