I swear, ever since this game win gotw, it has been getting a lot of hates (mainly on twitter, of course)

they gave a game with a 10 million dollar budget "best indie game" and they gave it best art direction over actual animated games with an artstyle like hades 2

Good game, but it was one of their weakest years, which is why they won.

i actually liked that game story and art was so good

it stole 2-3 categories for sure but its probably salty mfs whose favorite game isn't even in contention for any of those categories i don't trust player base opinions after the player's choice award went to a gacha game

Unnecessary hate from people although I do find it weird it won so much it deserves the glaze for sure but I thought there were plenty of good games this year that should win stuff

Always happens when there's people unhappy that their game didn't win. But I do personally think that some categories were bit questionable like E33 winning RPG over games like KCD2? You could say same about the Indie category like is E33 really a indie game in that sense when there are legit small indie games that did well this year? But overall deserved for most categories.

remember when 2 years ago people were hating on baldurs gate 3 because "spider-man 2 deserved it"?

I never saw so many racism toward white people, they litterally call the game "Gwer obscure" (Gwer is an insult used by french arabic to talk about white people, kinda comparable like the N word since the etymology of Gwer refer to people Arabic where allowed to kill or enslave, beside in Frane we don't really care about it)

i voted hades 2 in every category in for the game show INFACT i played hades 2 after seeing the nomination on the game awards website due to Hades 1nostalgia and it was the second coming of urangoat

The minority will always make their opinion the loudest because they are the only ones upset at the results.

Classic case of a genuinely well deserving game getting the flowers but the catastrophe being that we also had so many other S tier games and now it will be hated due to the success it achieved
But I still hold it very high and do not think it is overrated

Balaro should have won 👍
