if they actually do get promoted to replace Talon, what are the odds they drop everyone for the TLN players or leave the TLN players orgless?

also is it lowkey not shameless to get promoted twice even though you didn't actually qualify both times

okay not like it's the org's fault they're run better than others but from a competitive integrity standpoint it is kinda funny

Like it or not, I think people should criticize riot/jake sin and not BOOM Esport if they're indeed choosen to replace talon.. Its not BOOM fault that they're one of the most "stable" org financially and structurally in SEA at the moment, and they've been investing into Val since day 1 too..

As an indo, i would hated it if BOOM were to be promoted into tier 1 with 0 thai players because thai is one of SEA strongest sub-region after indo i think..
I just hope that if BOOM decided to drop all their indo players for thai players, some big indo org would pick all of them like ONIC G, Alter Ego or Bigetron

unironically jake sin/riot shouldn't be criticised on this one because it's not their fault talon was a terribly run org and if they picked boom it's probably because they are the least likely candidate to fall apart like talon did

it's not like riot fucked up by kicking out talon or anything

But there should still be responsibility from Riot's side, because they are the ones who vet these orgs, yet somehow we keep having orgs that keep running into financial issues.

tbf the org scene in SEA is not particularly stable, Talon had partnered with PSG in league, and they had been somewhat stable for a while.
bleed didn't even make it into partnership in the first place, they were an ascension team that blew up. sounds like riot made a good decision by not partnering with them.

so far talon is the only asian org that riot had to remove due to bad financial and player management. that's not bad imo.

But they (riot and jakesin) is the decision maker, we dont know 100% how riot vets Esport org or how they choose their partnered team, sure they give us requirement like org should be financially and structurally stable, but i bet there's a whole can of worms requirement that we dont know from riot that they cant disclose to the public (contracts).. Or maybe riot are just lazy and choose the easiest pick like BOOM which jeopardize other thai orgs that applied to replace Talon, who knows?.

we don't know for sure but riot's track record isn't too bad. talon is the only asian org riot approved for partnership that ran into troubles and had to be removed.
and they, at least publicly, were pretty clean since 2023 in val and earlier in lol.
it sounds like riot knew ahead of time that bleed weren't stable - that's probably why they didn't make it into partnership.

correct me if i’m wrong but jake sin said that the tln guys being picked up is a big priority

pretty based, but i wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't end up happening for one reason or the other.

I mean not really? If you think about it the only reason they are even considered is because they were doing good in the first place, just outclassed by another team but still one of the best teams in ascension at the time. At least it's better than M8 who got added just because Riot wanted them to be in franchising.

they were a top 2 team at ascension 24 and top 3 at ascension 25 but if they failed to qualify both times then generally speaking many people would agree that they did not deserve their spot. maybe in 24, making 2nd with a game that close in ascension 24? i think the close results definitely spoke to their level.
but i mean this year they were clearly the 3rd best team, they lost 3-0 & 3-1 to 1st and 2nd and it wasn't really close.

idk. ascension was meant to be a merit-based qualifier tournament but if they're promoting teams that don't actually meet the qualification criteria then it could be seen as damaging to the integrity and mission of the tournament.

not that boom is at any fault anyway. they've been in the scene since the start, seem to be well-run.

this would not at all be a problem though if the org was promoted and the team is just ex-tln.

it's like you can't really make the argument that boom as a team deserved it over the team that got kicked out because talon just got top 3 pacific in stage 2, and boom got top 3 in tier 2. different levels yk
