Meteor?
Pacific have some of the best controller in the world:
Mako, sScary, karon, sugarzero (at the time).
Mako has been the most consistent standout controller since the start of valorant.
He should be a GOAT contention for pacific at the very least.
Saying Mako could be the goat of pacific while he has no accomplishments is the same as trying to say that Charles Leclerc is a goat contender right now in F1. Fans of both just non stop yap about their team being the reason they are doing shit with no world winning achievements from either one (no WDC for Leclerc and no LAN win for Mako).
mako is jailed at DRX (he should goes to T1 with buzz and stax to get master trophy)
Meteor lead 2 completely different teams that plays in a very different way to a masters trophy. He might not be the most consistent but when it comes to international tournaments, he will always show up. Idk bout all time but he's the most valuable Pacific player in the history of Val so far
i think if f0rsaken wins another toronto level trophy (aka 2nd masters or champs) he is the goat
otherwise meteor > f0rsaken because he did it on two different teams
tbh i think masters 1 will be less fraudulent this year anyway cuz of the changes
Tbh forsaken has better runs in lot more events. Trophies alone don't matter otherwise chronicle would be undisputed goat of val.
true but meteor did it with 2 different teams. and he was arguably mvp both times they won. i think thats worth more than f0rsaken running it back with the same team since 2021 and having one trophy for it.
but i measure the success by peaks first longevity second. meteor peaked more than f0rsaken twice, in two different environments.
also f0rsaken lowkey wasnt a big performer when prx failed to win. at toronto he was mvp but before that, statwise at least, he was underperforming. meteor was basically always playing well even when gen.g got grouped at champs.
yeah f0rsaken has made deep runs since 2022 but only now did he and prx finally get a trophy, after almost 4 years.
meteor got 2 in the span of 12 months.
I think forsaken has better longevity too but meteor peaks are higher and did it with completely different teams but I still think forsaken is arguable over meteor. Meteor is still #1 for me tho.
he's in the debate and one more trophy would seal it but meteor for me is #1 for now. it took meteor got 2 masters within 12 months and with a new team whereas it took f0rsaken 4 years and multiple roster moves to get just 1.
granted it took meteor like 2 or 3 years to get his first masters as well
Just trying to say that I think goat position for apac is still easily debatable. Both meteor and forsaken can be argued for the goat status. It depends on your preference when judging players. I value consistency and longevity more generally. And forsaken is also the igl as well as the most flexible player itw so I rate him higher. I think just pure impact wise forsaken is easily the most valuable player itw not just in apac.
Boaster kinda above forsaken still ig.
reasoning is understandable if you value consistency above peaks.
but f0rsaken EASILY most valuable player itw is an insane take. you're saying he is more valuable than players who have replicated or even surpassed their success on multiple teams (Ethan, Aspas, Chronicle)
Ethan won Champs twice, IGLing the second time around with a completely new roster and coaching staff, and he was clutch in map 5 to boot.
Aspas made top 3 Champs with 2 different teams and 3 different rosters (22 LOUD, 23 LOUD, 24 LEV, and 5th/6th with 25 MIBR) and with MIBR he had like 3 rookies with him and he still managed to be individually the best player at the tourney.
Chronicle won 3 trophies with 2 different teams, sure he doesn't check all the boxes f0rsakeN does but he clearly has insane impact on FNC and had insane impact on GMB. And he's probably made just as many deep runs as PRX, if not more after this year.
even though f0rsakeN is capable of flexing to any role and IGLing, it's not like he was statistically or noticeably performing above average on all of them. I remember he was infamous for having <1 rating at deep runs prior to Toronto, and it was players like Jinggg or something who were performing above him at Tokyo & LA 23/Shanghai 24. And this was within the comfort of his own team. Players who are capable of succeeding in new environments are significantly more valuable than those who try multiple times on the same team.
f0rsakeN is easily my top 5 favourite players but this is actually overglaze imo.
I am talking about just overall impact for their team not just in-game fragging or stats. Like boaster in my opinion for what he does in and out the game for fnatic is easily the most impactful player itw. Same in case of forsaken, his insane flexibility and igling while doing it is too impactful for his team. I don't think any player in val can replace forsaken completely in prx without changing players in other role too.
Like i don't see aspas or Ethan or even Chronicle be able to replace forsaken and have as much impact as forsaken for prx. There is a reason why many analysts like sliggy rate him in top 5 player itw after just 1 master win. Also for prx stats don't mean shit tbh. If you actually check their stats for most events it's generally very evenly distributed except for 1 or 2 events. I also used to look at just stats and call him overrated in past but I know balls now ig.
Still this looks like overglaze but trust. His overall impact for prx throughout the years has just been that insane.
Forsaken for sure. Better longevity basically and more achievements overall. I need to see meteor make top 4 in champs at least once.
Nvm its eggster hes the goat in every region even if he doesn't play in jt
There shouldn’t one goat for the entirety of APAC since Korea has had a bigger impact recently and SEA has had bigger impacts in the past
KR goat: Meteor
SEA goat: Probably Forsaken
