iirc someone said it was init > smoke > senti > (big gap) duel
i dont wanna add flex in here since it really depends what kind of flex

Controller, you usually stay back and watch your team, dont have as much utility as initiator, and aren’t generally expected to lurk.
It’s just perfect
whatever the fuck tejo is >>> scans > passive smokes > sentinel >>> aggressive smokes >>> duelist >>>>>>> flash
breach back when he was played maybe, Kayo/Skye/Gekko never
flash init IGL doesn't work, you either throw awful util, call awful strats, or can't frag - Even munchkin who nearly manages Kayo IGL somehow (being a viper/Kayo two-trick helps) he's still throwing games in other places because the slightest tilt on top of everything else overwhelms him.
I think it does work, as long as player comfort is there.
Ethan won champs by calling and throwing flashes right
tbh it's important to note that literally all roles CAN succeed at igl it's just significantly variable difficulty
Ethan is not the only voice on NRG or they'd lose big time like the first time FNS left
Now that you mention it, I think it has more to do with the way the agent generally deploys utility, rather than the role itself
Astra, Brim, and Tejo have more map-deployed utility than other agents, and I wouldn't be surprised if they statistically have more success as IGLs than agents like Omen, Fade, and Sova, who are technically the same roles, but actually play quite differently in scenarios requiring fast decision-making (if such data exists)
Essentially yes, but tbh i think Sova/Fade can still comfortably play watching map sim all the time even with their util not being remote like these.
This is also why Viper and some Sentis are better at IGL than others, but these roles have to get lurks and often solo frags too.
I also kind of agree with this, it gives the IGL more flexibility imo, it can let them play aggressive, lurky, or supportive.
Statistically speaking in terms of performance
Controller > info ini = Senti > flash ini > duelist
The TLDR for it is, you dont want your IGL being on a role that is relatively micro intensive. That doesnt mean its not successful (NRG Ethan), but often those players are specialists in the roles they are performing on (that isnt Controller/Info Ini) to make it easier overall for the team.
You can see this trend across teams where the IGL has shifted off of Flashes and how the success rate of those teams have changed.
ok now that you say it maybe now i do believe controller > init in terms of igling
Controller seems to be the ideal role but you need to be mentally present in the game while commanding players and giving them smokes which will be hard to master
its actually the easiest role to do it on, hence the role having the most popular success rate regarding IGLs
Controller or Scan Initiator. Let the Sentinel just focus on aim and frag out.
Whoever controls or directs the map, both offensively and defensively, should be IGL.
Communication, good insight, and information wins games.
