aspas theory (allat)

so i've been thinking about tex and mazino picks and i reached the conclusion that he probably thinks Lev 24 was the closest he got to winning a international title again (just speculation btw):

  • Loud 23 got close twice but it was less about being a good collective team and more on the sheer firepower, Saadhak calling, early-year meta foundations and aspas himself (with Less) covering for many mistakes. On the way things ended and rumours going around it seemed like the team fractured mid-season between Frod and Aspas vs Saadhak and Less (not really a personal beef just different game views) with Cauanzin and Tuyz in the middle. They managed to take things well to Champs but by the time offseason came Saadhak wanted to try another thing for 24 (orthodox non-meta comps based on PRX own style that later on would turn into the early 24 phoenix comps) which aspas and frod didn't want. When frod got kicked (partially backed by Cauanzin and Tuyz too) aspas viewed that as Loud management and roster siding with Saadhak so he said fuck it and left.

  • Lev 24 was not better than Loud 23 but in the context it was a lot more cohesive collectively. Aspas is a lot closer to the players there and looking from outside i think he probably blames the coaching staff for the loss

  • He was supposed to go to Bleed after Lev and i think it wasn't just because he would get quadrillionaire or he would move to APAC but because he wanted to build a roster with his pacific besties. Since Bleed was theoretically rich as fuck he could play FIFA carreer mode and just go nuclear on roster moves there. Theoretically they would need to keep at least 3 from the ascension run but this is manageable. Then they get kicked of VCT and it all goes down

  • He was ready to play with Lev because no one really was willing to pay his buyout at the time but Lev kinda didn't wanna put him in because he was bitchy about the management and the coaching staff and they were keeping both. He then reportedly got three offers

  • He chose MIBR because he wanted Frod. Since most rosters were finalized and there wasn't many great players left available he decided his best shot would be stick with his trusted coach. On Lev in 24 he wanted too but they didnt got him, so he went back to his friend and even asked for Nzr on the roster (that was supposed to be in lev at the time too but he got kicked and aspas got pissed). Later on nzr would be kicked from the roster and it's kinda shady but i think it was because of a health issue and he actually stepped down so aspas was cool with it. Verno was probably a Frod recommendation since Frod has been scouting NA talent even before aspas came into picture for MIBR (allegedly they would do a NA squad for 25) so aspas liked it.

  • MIBR rushed their roster with what was left in the market since aspas came in pretty late but it wasn't really what aspas wanted besides him being cool with it. They thrive on the fact BR teams are demented and didn't get any of the actual best talent from T2 and build a pretty decent roster with Sacy recommendations. They manage to get a good run on americas and then things took a turn but similar to Loud 23 they keep things up for champs; also similar with Loud 23 they get fucked by the fact that they have rookies in their squad that pissed themselves on international stage but this time is even worse.

  • So what comes next? Everyone leaves except Aspas and Verno because well everyone was not supposed to be there in the first place. MIBR knows aspas is their big jackpot so they prioritize giving him what he wants so he can stay. He then thinks "well i do want to build a winning roster". His winning rosters were Loud 22 (Saadhak and Less were nos, Sacy retired, Loud was not giving out Pancada), Loud 23 (Same + Loud is not giving out Cauanzin and Tuyz is bad now) and Lev 24, which again to him would probably win champs if they didn't got sabotaged by the staff.

  • He doesn't need a initiator so you can rule out C0m which is good cause Verno is much better. Kingg was difficult to bring and he probably doesn't want to (i also think aspas don't fw kingg very much because of nzr but i might be wrong). He gets a good enough replacement and then brings the rest of Lev 24, now with a much more trustworthy coaching staff and general upgrades in the roster

  • So my prediction now is if this team doesn't work out he will either never work with Frod again and might play with Saadhak (if he still is playing by then) or/and Less OR he will never play with the Lev core again and stick with Frod. If it does work out he will want to stick for the next years and change as minimal as he can. TLDR: Aspas thinks this is Lev 24 upgraded and its his best shot at a international win and that's why he's bringing FUCKING TEX GODDAMIT and not keeping Cortezia

TECHNICALLY it was because XLG lost to DRG, because even if we beat nova XLG, needed to win that game for wolves qualify for playoffs

I read allat and its decent info about aspas career since franchise started. LEV 2024 was the closest Aspas ever got to reach Champions Grand Finals, only 2 rounds away from it (LEV vs EDG 11-8 third map upper finals) so I understand why he believes in tex+Mazino

If tex doesnt do well, Im STILL predicting MIBR Less to replace him mid season (This is also a KRU Less failure prediction), just like nzr was replaced after 1 tournament. Its still absurd to me that the 2 best brazilian players of all time dont play together anymore regardless of any beef with frod, they need to win

I don't think Kru is letting Less go easily specially since Less was still under contract so there is likely a heavy buyout involved. I also don't think they aren't willing to play with each other since Less seemingly changed a lot since 23, they just didn't get the chance yet

I think there has to be another reason for dropping cortezia for tex, because aspas knows too that cortezia performed better than tex ever will

Well, looking objectively at it:

aspas with tex: won VCT Americas against G2 with a dominant 9-1 record in Americas and placed top-3 at Champions

aspas with cortezia: first year aspas didnt win a single title, maximum top 3 in VCT Americas, first time ever he didnt go to playoffs, worst Champions placement ever (Top 5) while having the best performance ever at Champions (1.33 rating)

cortezia also had the same numbers of xenom this year, and xenom is a player that needs to look to his keyboard in order to move, move his mouse like its a heavy brick and communicates badly like there is a d* stuck in his throat

Xenom disrespect is crazy, guy was rhz levels of ass in champions but he was NOT a bad player during the entire season

that guy was the most impactless player i've ever seen, every time he was in an important clutch situation you KNEW he would lose, every time there was an impactful kill that he needed to get you KNEW he wouldnt get, it was so sad. I remember something around 2-3 good plays from him THE ENTIRE SEASON and thats about it

He was the guy that was moving to CS, played the MIBR aspas tryouts, dropped a 34 kills life game on Bind playing Brimstone in tryouts and then got in the team because of that

HE NEVER GOT 34 KILLS IN VCT! HE HAD ZERO KILLS FOR 90% OF THE FINAL MAP OF A BO5 IN >ONLINE< QUALIFIER AGAINST >BOOSTIO<. CORTEZIA TURRET HAD MORE KILLS THAN HIM FOR 90% OF THE GAME, HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?! THE MATCH WAS NOT EVEN ON STAGE

sorry for screaming

yo chill, xenom was not that bad, yes he could've been better but he did his job well enough and there wasn't much brazil smoke talents available

Like i said on the text i think it's much more about aspas trusting tex more as a teammate than a problem with cortezia itself

in aspas' last stream, he banned someone that said 'picking tex over cortezia is a bad idea' in portuguese, he even mentioned to tex that he banned a terrible take

Aspas should've never had C0M Tex in LEV, same with Artzin Xenom. It was just a waste of time for him, seriously.
Kingg Mazino were good, Verno Cortezia was good too.

Aspas chose Verno Zekken and he knows he can vibe well with Mazino and Tex.
That's how I see allat TLDR.

well aspas didn't want c0m he wanted nzr. but it was understandable at the time, he was a world champion, his stocks were high, etc. tex tho was kind of a weird pull by lev because he was kicked out of a ascending The Guard/G2 and role swapping and they were changing their entire language for him. but i dont think he was that bad in 24 so

I don't think he's that bad too
I do think Cortezia is better
But like i said, i think it's more about aspas trusting tex
