Prize pool doesnt determine if a tournament mickey or not. Bo1s and single elimination do, however
no elimination matches were bo1s. only opening group stage matches. this "bo1s" argument is invalid.
single-elim does not make a tournament where the best teams from VCT Stage 1 are competing for a 1.25mil prize pool mickey mouse.

Vavle lifted a restricted where other tournament can have more prize pool than CS Major, this doesn't mean IEM Cologne or Katowice gonna be bigger than Major. Same applies to EWC
Also I think it had to be a BO1 cause they were low on time Stage 2 started like a week after the finals

Vit would have lost the major if it weren't for that loss because their focus was maintaining the streak more than anything

3 last CS2 majors, all 8 playoff teams were pound for pound the best.
Copenhagen: literally the entire top 8
Shanghai: the entire top 8 for the exception of navi (who choked)
Austin: the entire top 8 except for falcons (who choked)
A good team will win 3 bo3s in a row even if the bo1s don't go their way (mouz Austin 2025, faze Shanghai 2024), a bad one won't (navi Shanghai, Falcons austin).
After the last seeding changes in CS2 the last 3 majors cannot be deemed as mickey mouse, literally wtf is this point

the bait almost worked but you clearly didn’t watch the event there were genuinely hour+ long tech pauses EVERY day of the tournament
- Not part of VCT
- It was right after masters Toronto which means that the teams that were there had less time than the one who weren't or were eliminated early,
- it also split China stage 2, so the chinese teams were already playing in the new meta and had to switch back to the previous patch
- It started with a single maps and only then went into 2 maps
- A lot of teams were either playing with Subs, testing new rosters, hiding strats or just running past strats instead of using anything innovative
- Single Elimination playoffs
- The qualifications for teams that weren't top 2 at stage were really hectic where technically coaches could just talk to their players
- A lot of tech issues
- Some teams like Wolves, TL, and other good teams didn't qualify because they didn't try hard in the qualification matches, so there ended up being teams like KC, and BBL who aren't terrible and then TEC(which is terrible) which are obviously not the best out of the teams that could have been there.

And there are probably a many more reasons you could point out.

First, the tech issues added to why it was a mickey mouse, also champs hasn't had hour long tech pauses.
Second, just because stage 2 was starting and they had time constraints doesn't make it any less mickey mouse.
Third, and ah yes a tournament where TEC made it over every other Chinese team because TEC is a good chinese team, or PRX playing qualifiers with mindfreak and the pacific qualifier top 4 having TS and GE which are two of the bottom three teams in the region. All of that screams that the good teams tried.
And wolves didn't make to champs and liquid got grouped , u can't say "good teams" didn't make it

I personally don't think that the players at the event did not give it there all to win the trophy. Its only the community which considers it mickey mouse but again they played it on online servers which should not happen next year.

Some parts of the world will always paint negative connotation like Qatar World Cup for example. Not everything is better when its "too global".
SEA games have valorant, Asian games have League and certain parts of the world have Games of the Future.
FNS says its not a mickey, reasons being: All of the good teams attended, players wanted to win it as much as any masters event and ofc just the prizepool being insane
online, bo1s to qual, single elim, not part of the VCT circuit, basically no time between EWC and Toronto for a meta change or development, the way i look at EWC is pretty simple, its not a masters, above a regional, BUT the gamesthat actually got played still happened, and they would have happened the same way if it was a VCT event, like the games dont magically become invalid or disappear because they were played in a shitty format
