why do I feel like storyline is such a common word on val competitive community? Like, dont you enjoy just watching the game being played at the highest level or supporting players you like?
champs peaked in 2023 when they kept the same meta the whole year which allowed teams to have a tonne of depth by the time the tournament rolled around. That combined with LCQ made it an exciting tournament with really strong teams to give us the best valo.
Nowadays there are too many meta changes and the points system which kills the hype. MIBR and DRX getting into champs despite only playing their best during a previous meta, plus every team needing to reinvent themselves every month means that we dont really know which teams are good outside of the best from each region, and the strategic depth is nowhere near as good as it could be

i mean it wasn’t just burnout, he also had national exams in his country which is very important and secures him a great future should he ever stop competing
